Sep 27, 2012 4:27 PM in response to Khoolmanby David Dodge,I was also contacted by Apple to help solve the battery drain issue. In my previous posts you can see what I tried. I tried many things and finally broke down and did a complete restore. I even deleted all of my music from my backup before the restore - this really cleaned the operation of iTunes Match. However this did not solve the battery drain issue. I am charging my phone twice a day with moderate use. I can slow down battery drain a little by constantly turning things off, but what's the point in that?

Sep 27, 2012 4:54 PM in response to Gus_kby homeflash,FYI,
After I unchecked all icloud sync, mine does go better. However, I have another broken Iphone 4, (glass broken, didn't brother to update that one, still working as wifi), that one has 5 mins for 1% drop for browsing time while this iphone 4 with ios6 has only 3 1/2 mins for 1% drop. Yes, it did improve after I did the uncheck and reset settings, but I still think it is not good enough comparing to my other iphone 5.1.1
One note though, The idle time is also good, if I don't use it for 2 or 3 hours, it only drop maybe 1 or 2 % like yours...
I still think Apple needs to fix it. We should not have done Set up as New Phone and Restore from PC, this is not acceptable...

Sep 27, 2012 5:40 PM in response to davaelaby Elizabeth_L,When I have a low battery what seems to work for me is if I turn down the brightness, it makes the battery life last a little longer then if its up high.
Maybe that can help you with the battery drain.

Sep 27, 2012 6:42 PM in response to Greg Bastug1by ecvoyager,After upgraded to iOS6, my battery did drain out pretty fast too.
Then I followed the recommendation to recalibrate the battery. And my 4S' battery is back to normal now.
Hope this help whoever still has the issue.
BTW, I like the new Apple Map in iOS6, way better and useful than the old Google map, in my area at least.

Sep 27, 2012 8:10 PM in response to Greg Bastug1by Holeshot1982,Got contacted by Apple to download a program to my iPhone so they can research it. I did a full restore tonight and installed it. I also put it on my iPad2 as well, so we will see how it goes.

Sep 27, 2012 9:26 PM in response to David Dodgeby kauaiamerica, how long did you charge your iphone? overnight or more three hours.
I had same problem too after I updated it to iOS 6. After I figured out that even though the battery indicator was showing 100% after one hour, the battery still wasn't charged to 100%.
Now, I charge the battery over night or at least 3 hours even thought the battery indicator shows 100% and my 4s works like before.
TRY THIS: Drain the battery and then charge it over night at least 6 hours.
Also, you can check this what I found:
when I use the computer usb port to charge the battery, I found something strange:
battery indicator is showing 100% from my iphone within a hour
battery indicator is still showing "charging" from iTunes after two hours.

Sep 28, 2012 2:31 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by YachtRoanna,I honestly believe that this IOS6 "upgrade" reduces my Iphone to something with questionable "merchantable quality" and I'm going to seek advice on this although me vs Apple's lawyers will only end one way I guess! Can't get my head round why Apple don't simply admit a problem and let us reinstate IOS 5.1.1. I'm just glad my Ipad is still useable - I didn't update it.

Sep 28, 2012 3:18 AM in response to YachtRoannaby jcpg,I've followed the previous suggestions
1) backed up my iPhone
2) reset my iPhone started as a new device
3) restored my backup
I noticed some improvement as most of my apps did not sync including Facebook. When I started browsing Facebook from safari somehow my phone reverted back and started to drain quicker.
4) removed Facebook to allow access to my calendar. >settings >Facebook>allow access to calendar> signed out.
My phone is substantially better. I tested my standby and it is back to iOS 5.1 standards. The phone no longer gets hot during a charge

Sep 28, 2012 3:46 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by deelan,Ok, so an 'AppleCare' technition was meant to call me apparently to discuss this issue. Didn't happen, nice one AppleCare.
ANYWAY.
After using my iphone after my fixes, I get an average of 7-9.5 hours of use. Which is 1-3 hours better than my iOS 5.1.1 so YAY.
However I have noticed a few things;
Facebook is an absolute battery drain. (I'd use a stronger word but it'd not post haha)
I use my normal morning apps - whatsapp, flipboard, emails, text - lose roughly 5% per hour - pretty freaking good in my opinion.I open facebook, I lose around 10-15% per hour of usage if not more.
My theory is that something in the Facebook app/iOS has screwed up and it is asking for something that it cannot get.I disabled facebook calender integration and that helped a lot, i left contacts on and the other thing (can't recall)
Also, not sure if anyone has had this, but my autobrightness doesn't seem to be working on my iphone 4 or my ipad (3rd gen)... Anyone got any help on this?

Sep 28, 2012 3:50 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by linnie2011,I can supply some more observations (iPhone 4S, 64GB)
I have done a restore (not as a new iPhone, though), switched off all available Push-Notifications, only 15 min. interval Mail-Check still is active, screen is set to quite dim.
I let the battery drain completely yesterday, let it load during the night (completely switched off). Then did a cold reboot, following advices how to "recalibrate battery".
This morning, I had 100% battery, 0 / 0 usage to start off with
Now:
1.) After 7 hours and a total "manual usage time" of 15 mins. by myself (the rest of the time, the S4 was sitting on my desk), I had 1:39 "active" usage and 8:21 "standby" - don't know, where the 1:39 hrs. usage came from. AND: the numbers sum up to 10 hours (after 7 hours of being switched on????)
2.) After that time, battery had gone done to 77%.
MY 15 mins. of usage were nothing with heavy load on the processor. Basically checking settings and usage time a few times, one time reading a normal mail.3.) After another 45 mins. of sitting in standby on my desk usage time STILL is as follows "active" 1:39, "standby" 9:06. BUT: battery has gone down to 66% !!!
So, not only had the iPhone not been "active" during that time (which is strange, looking at the "big" usage time during the other hours, I would have expected some added usage time),
but (according to recorded and real usage, with NO usage in 45 mins.) has gone done 11% !I have no explanation whatsoever. Signal strength / cell-reception has always been maximum, so I assume, no battery drain due to exhaustive search for a better network has happened
