Oct 3, 2012 4:04 PM in response to Greg Bastug1by AlliisonR,I'm starting to hate my iPhone 4s. I only got it 4 weeks ago, and it was running wonderfully until I updated to iOS 6. The battery drainage was/is terrible and the phone was/is heating up. I turned off email to fetch.....did all the things they tell you to do to conserve power....didn't help. So I took some screenshots of the usage, went to the Genuis Bar on Sunday. They tested the battery, told me it was fine, and that my phone needed to be reconfigured, and once it was done I would have a much better battery life. Nope, still the same....rapid battery drainage, and the phone is still heating up......not what I expect after paying 645.00 for an unlocked phone, then 100 for an extra year of Apple care :-(

I lose 1-2% every three-4 min when in use and 1% every 10ish min when idle.

Oct 3, 2012 4:33 PM in response to Greg Bastug1by Karie84,I am beyond angry that the barrery life on my 4s has sucked since the new update. I have tried the fixes but nothing helps. You dony alwayas have access to a charger and if you dont you are afraid your phone will die.
APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS!

Oct 3, 2012 4:36 PM in response to CalebM39by SandroD,And is that on wifi or 3g? I get the same drop on wifi but on 3g it gets worse 1% every 2minutes. Im on iphone 5, i guess the hardware doesnt really matter then. I am not sure now, am I asking too much ? Is 30% drop every hour browsing on 3g considered acceptable ?

Oct 3, 2012 4:42 PM in response to SandroDby davaela,Same as mine 4s with iOS 6. Not sure how can call it acceptable. My phone seems ok in idle but 3G browsing is a ****.

Oct 3, 2012 4:43 PM in response to SandroDby AlliisonR,I'm not getting the drop on standby, but when using it on wi-fi it typically drops 1% every 2-3 mins.

It's on 3G. And my "hour" usage was off and on for an hour, but either way 30% loss an hour is by no means acceptable. It maybe should drop 10% in that time. I don't actually remember how good my battery was before but when friends of mine can end the day (7am-3pm) with 72%, 82%, and 79%, all with two hours of usage and at least 8 hours of standby recorded, I think is up. All of them with iOS 6 and 4s's.

Oct 3, 2012 5:07 PM in response to SandroDby CalebM39,Nope. I mean they all have the new iOS 6 but no battery drain. So it ***** to see that when I'm at 22% in the exact same amount of time and always have to turn location services, wifi, and push email off, when I never had to before iOS 6.

Oct 3, 2012 5:12 PM in response to CalebM39by SandroD,Interesting, well im one of those affected so I know what you mean but it's very interesting that some ios6 devices are just fine.
Apple we just can't take this any further you need to come up with the solution

Oct 3, 2012 5:32 PM in response to Greg Bastug1by martinsb22,Anything will work, its iOS6 problem, im losing 10% every 10 minutes, last night i plug my iphone 4s and charge it till this morning, i unplugged it and inmediately went down to 95%, something really weird its happening, Apple MUST have a solution to this problem as soon as possible.

Oct 3, 2012 5:36 PM in response to Susan5sby netsoup,I really don't buy thy people are just updating it wrong.
The rep must not know many people updated via wifi and there's only one way to do that.
I updated via wifi and got hit.
There was a button that said update in the settings, and I pressed it and let it update. Not sure how the resulting bugs can be attributed to user error. They provided the button and I expect more refinement from Apple. If iTunes needed to be updated first it should have prompted like it has countless times it didn't matter apparently.
They better not repeat the now infamous "the signal drops because you're holding it wrong" snafu.
I understand Apple is almost the only company that even lets users with older devices get official OS updates to keep up with new features.
The response should be "there's a bug in some of the update paths we provided", if that's even it, not that people are "updating it wrong" by clicking on the buttons they provided...
