Oct 4, 2012 6:36 PM in response to katsnbooksby AWArea51,What I would like to see is Apple offer/allow customers to downgrade to 5.1.1 until the main issues with 6.0 are resolved - wifi connectivity, excessive data over cellular WHEN connected to wifi, battery drain.
Another point to consider, like the battery issue 5.0.1, what happens to customers with a new phone who are stuck with this issue until a fix? Will Apple replace under warranty the battery if it should happen to fail early? Most system manufacturers warrant laptop batteries for the 1st year. Just a thought - I switched from Android to iPhone when the 4S was launched so I am still new to apple and their policies.
It was reassuring to read that Verizon would not be sticking any overages caused by 6.0 to its customers (prior to the verizon update which was pushed out). What about AT&T and other carriers? Will they cover it as well? We know its not isolated to just the iPhone 5 - a quick search of this forum will produce multiple reports of 4S owners seeing the same behavior.
This whole issue (6.0) is such a mess. I imagine we'll see a couple of legal battles happening if Apple fails to resolve these issues soon.

Oct 4, 2012 7:31 PM in response to Greg Bastug1by John Smith 1882,I have this issue too. (I have iphone 4)
Initially upon going to ios6 my battery drained in 5 hours.
Then after several days it came good and battery life went up to 48+ hours as normal.
Now another week has passed and the problem has returned again! sub 8hour battery life!
I want ios5 back!!

Oct 4, 2012 7:52 PM in response to Greg Bastug1by Karie84,I'm obviously having the same battery drain problem as everyone else but the newest issue is I try to sync my iPhone 4S to the computer and it won't pick it up. I thought maybe it was my USB but I plugged something else in and it worked.
I have deleted and reinstalled iTunes but it still won't work!
I wanna freak out this is so frustrating.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I am not lucky enough to be techy.

Oct 5, 2012 2:02 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by matteena,I have an iPhone 4 and had same battery issues and also calendar wouldn't work. Ended up having to restore to factory settings and start again as a new iPhone. Have set up my work Exhange email account and now all is working fine. I'm too scared to add apps at the moment for fear that it will go back to how it was.
I did try to restore a previous back up after I had it working again but this just sent it back to the battery and calendar problems. So, after factory restore again, all seems to be working fine now. I went from 100% to 0% within 5 hours on standby (sitting beside my bed while I was asleep) to last night 100% to 98% in the morning.
Would have really been happy just to revert back to iOS 5 though....

Oct 5, 2012 3:24 AM in response to dlew97by dlew97,Hi folks
A day and a half after, with no other changes, and only changing the push to fetch for my exchange account, the battery has been stable...at 10pm last night after a full day of use I manage to have 61% battery life from a full charge overnight from the night before...phone was unplugged at 5:30 am.
So far so good.....

Oct 5, 2012 5:29 AM in response to dlew97by netsoup,This is rediculous. There needs to be a supported downgrade path if Apple is going to be so unresponsive to all the people with issues. I'm not sure I want iOS 5 back or to wait anymore. Many people assumed Apple would fix this with a .1 update by now, give a statement, ANYTHING.
If they don't address this soon it's going to undermine whatever they want to announce here soon for many. It's making me think twice the quality and customer care I expect from Apple... Even for us without Apple care, if an update from Apple is causing so many issues on a phone that was working fine, we deserve to be able to downgrade or a responsive solution.
Mine's ok most of the time now after some adjustments and resets but I hate that using Safari or even listening to music that i downloaded already from iTunes match sometime kicks it into high drain mode.
I went to try to revert to iOS5 last night and it looks like the only way is to root or jailbrake it.
Apple, either support the "downgrade" or give the public a response or official statement you are not abandoning people this update caused problems for.
I was looking forward to the announcement, but it really depends on how serious you take this issue. Just because millions had no issue, that's no excuse to abandon what appears to be thousands at least that the bug in hardware revisions and software versions bugged out their phone.
Once people feel they need to root or jailbrake iOS for basic things like battery life and usable smart phone features together the image goes down. Still fantastic hardware but this will be a blacker eye the longer it goes on.

Oct 5, 2012 7:02 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by hansfromzoetermeer,I have an ipad 2 and went to IOS 6 on the 21th of september. Soon I noticed the battery life was much shorter than before. Less then 5 hours. After reading nearly all the posts above I did the next steps:
1. Settings, general, Reset, Reset all the settings. It cost me all my wireless connections. But ok. It also gave me about 5 Gb extra freespace, which was a total surprise for me.
2. Settings, Facebook. I killed the connection for the FB integration
3 Settings, Privacy, Location services (forgot the name in english, sorry) off
I charged the battery in the night till 100% and in the morning I saw that I did nearly not loose any batterypower since without use.
I used the ipad till it was totally empty and just before I saw that the Settings, General, Usage, Usage had 12 hours and Stand-by 1 day and 3 hours.
I think this is pretty normal again, but I am not sure, because never measured it before.
Because many apps asked for the Locationservices I put this on again, and it really didnot have a bad influenece on the battery I think. So still about twelve hours.
SO I AM 99 % SURE THAT THE FACEBOOKINTEGRATION WAS THE POINT FOR ME.
Can anybody confirm that my 12 hours is about normal now ?????

Oct 5, 2012 6:50 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by dkUnlimited,Just wanted to chime in as well. I had some intitial issues with iOS sick (er 6) on my iPhone 4S, mostly the camera would crash. I restarted my phone and that issue seemed to go away. However, my iPad 2 is another issue.
I'm getting the aforementioned battery drainage issues, but the apps are all crashing after only a few seconds of use. I initially though it was mostly Google apps (search, chrome, etc). However, I've now noted that most other major apps crash after a few seconds as well (Safari, Zite, Flipboard). I've tried a few of the tricks noted here already, restarting, letting the battery drain out completely, etc. None have worked. My iPad has essentially become useless. Not good Apple.
My last resort option will be to perform a restore as new. I'm not looking forward to this as I had problems with the upgrade to iOS 6 initially as well. It would be nice to know if there is a bug fix coming or if Apple has any official recommendations for this as I feel like they've set us all adrift.

Oct 5, 2012 7:10 AM in response to Greg Bastug1by brianmw,Same issue here battery drain is unbelievable... also my iphone gets very warm during and after charging, I also have noticed using the phone will warm it up as well, I never had these issues before updating. I did a restore, but restored it from back up not a complete reset... im not doing that, it would take me hours to get phone back to shape. Bought a Mophie juicepack air to get me threw this... and I know charge it regulalary like never before.
