iPad fails to connect to WiFi after OTA update to iOS 6

After the OTA update to iOS 6 my new iPad fails to connect to my WiFi network at home. My LANCOM router reports the following issue:

Index: 62294

Zeit: 19.09.2012 21:08:28

Interface: WLAN-1

Ereignis: Rejected Association from WLAN station xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx []: ()

Adresse: xxxxxxxxxxxx

Grund: Cannot support all requested capabilities in Capability Information field

It has worked flawlessly in the past with iOS 5 on my new iPad and iPhone 4. At the moment I hestitate to update my iPhone too.

Anyone with the same issue or an idea how to fix it?

Thanks in advance, greetings from Stuttgart (Germany),

Jens

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304

iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199

Additional things to try.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Same issues and those basic troubleshooting steps are not relevant in this case as this issue for me at least has occurred after the iOS 6 update. On an iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. I'm stopping the update on my 3rd gen iPad as I don't want to deal with issue.

Essentially, attempt to access my WiFi network, login and then it appears that I'm logged in. Once I attempt to launch Safari I see the header stating Log In as if I need to reauthenticate but it takes me to the Apple.com website and I'm able to browse the Apple site but no other site as the browser bar is gone and only the log in header is shown.

I close Safari and attemp to download emails and updates but I'm stuck on the 3G network as my connection appears to be lost to my WiFi network.

I am having the same exact issue as above with updated ipad3 - it won't connect to the same wifi it just used to download the update. I appear to connect in settings, but when I go back to icon page or safari, the wifi symbol disappears from the top of the screen. I hope this is fixed fast too - but how will those of us with the problem and using wifi sync, etc. get any update that fixes this if the wifi won't connect?

I have an iPad 3 and had this issue when I updated to ios6. It would connect to my home network, but disconnect shortly thereafter. I tried rebooting, forgetting the network, etc. I fixed it by going into Settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset Network Settings. Then, I rejoined and it worked. This obviously ***** because you lose all of your auto-join networks, but c'est la vie. Hope this helps....

I update my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 via OTA and cannot connect to my home WiFi network any moreAn apple.com "page cannot be found" pop-up appears then just brings me back to the list of Wifi hotspots. Tried this with other password protected networks and experience the same issue. Looks like the update has bricked my phone in terms of WiFi.

Do not update to iOS 6.
