I purchased aperture as an online download from Apple before it was in the App Store (Before there was an app store). Now I can't update to Aperture 3.4 (available in app store, not as download). Any suggestions? Thanks!

Clicking software update now takes you to the App Store and shows no available updates. I'm not sure, but I thought Apple was going to transition purchases over to the app store from those bought before the app store. Any word of that?

It doesn't convert it to the App Store version, but the App Store should at least see that you have Aperture installed, and offer to update it (since the App Store incorporated Software Updates). Aperture is in your /Applications folder, correct?
I have the same problem. I've been using Aperture since 2.0, and did not, of course, buy it from App Store.
The 3.4 upgrade did not show up among the updates in App Store.
I was under the impression that all software updates were moved to App Store...

apple should issue vouchers for those who have their licenses bought outside the apple store.

The AppStore will only show Aperture 3.4, if your MacOS is compatible. Have you upgraded to MacOS X 10.7.5 or 10.8.2? You need to upgrade to the latest MacOS first, then you can upgrade to Aperture 3.4, it requires

The changing date worked for me. I then searched in the App Store for Air France and found the Air France app which is new.
Lauching that I was able to log in to my frequent flyer account and it shows my bookings.

Same problem here. Used to show in software update, now doesn't show. I bought pre-app store, but think I upgraded via app store. I suspect this is related to Apple's ongoing problems with Apple IDs. Most of us now have multiple Apple IDs due to Apple's broken identity management, and lack of an ID consolidation procedure. I wonder if my purchase info was lost.
Apple's ID problems are underappreciated.
