Sep 19, 2012 5:22 PM in response to Patrick Stachofsky1by Patrick Stachofsky1,Wow...
First I need to make a correction, my 4S was the only iOS device at my house that was not affected by this issue. Anyway I seem to have fixed it for my network. I changed the passwords on both my 2G and 5G wireless at the router, forgot the networks on all of the iDevices, and then re-added the networks with the new passwords.
The iPad is good, (I re-did my 4S just to be on the safe side), and my wife's 4S is OK. When I wake hers from sleep it shows the circle for the network and then changes to the WiFi after about a second. I tried to reset the network setting on her phone and reconnecting but there was no change for that. I am hoping that when they push their fix it will correct that as well.
I know that others have suggested these steps and so I hope that they will work for others.
Good luck!

Sep 19, 2012 5:45 PM in response to leafbagby MicahBurke,I'll try this, I'm still getting failures trying to connect to the TKIP encrypted AP.
Tested that but still getting incorrect password for TKIP - turned on secondary radio unencrypted and was able to access.

Sep 19, 2012 5:53 PM in response to MicahBurkeby Hesti,I have the same error with my iPad3
Cannot join my Wi-Fi network, after providing the password i get the error message "unable to join the network"
My iPhone 4 btw works fine.
I traced the error down to a wrong config question from the iPad to my Wi-Fi router. The router writes in the Wi-Fi error log:
Cannot support all requested capabilities in Capability Information field

Sep 19, 2012 6:35 PM in response to Hestiby S. P. Cooper,Hesti -- Seems like we have the same issue.
It looks like iOS 6 added something to what the iPad is sending when it requests Network authorisation, and whatever has been added (I'm going to guess something related to IPv6) is not supported by our routers. This may be why my school's network infrastructure went off without a hitch--it's newer than my router (our building was just remodeled and updated with a network).
Strangely, this is particular to the iPad (or, perhaps, the iPad3). My iPhone4 works just fine.

Sep 19, 2012 6:37 PM in response to MicahBurkeby mlujan1982,Is happening on all iPad's or just WiFi and 3G? Maybe try connecting while on airplane mode and have WiFi only turned on. Also, this is a long shot, but turn off all security and pop ups in the safari options.

Sep 19, 2012 7:58 PM in response to MicahBurkeby Rick 69,I have an iPad and iPhone 4, just updated to iOS 6. Experienced the wifi. Problem on both.
The solution I found was to delete the DNS entries corresponding to each device on my router, not the wifi access point.
I have a Verizon supplied broadband modem/router, in the advanced settings there Is a DNS server selection which provides a list of device name and associated ( local net) IP address. I deleted the iPhone and iPad entries.
Next start. Of the device wifi worked.

Sep 19, 2012 8:53 PM in response to MicahBurkeby i38lbs,If you guys get that "Log In" screen after trying to connect to WIFI. Try clicking on one of the link you see on that page. It will turn the top right button from "Cancel" to "Done". Hit "Done" and your problem should be fixed. You should be connected to WIFI.
