Help! iPod is frozen!

Hi guys, I'll try to provide as much information as possible with this one.

Just a few minutes ago I was updating to the iOS6 Firmware for my iPod touch 4th gen. I had downloaded iOS6, and my iPod began the updating process, it had just made it through the "Restoring" process and then my iPod froze. It was stuck on the "Connect to iTunes screen" and still has been.

I already tried what Apple recommends, and even contacted support. I was on the phone with the poor lady for an hour, and I had to go, so I just said that it was working again.

But anyway..

I tried what she said "Hold down the power button and home button for 10 seconds. I also tried the "Hold down the home button, while you connect it to the USB on your computer."

Yes, I already restarted my computer, I know it's not the USB port, or the plug because I just tested it with my mom's iPhone and it works perfectly fine. But it seems that the computer, nor the iTunes is recognizing my iPod.

What can I do? What other options are there besides the generics that I've JUST been given?

iPod touch, iOS 5.1.1, Was trying to update to iOS 6.
