iOs 6 won't download

Don't restart your iPhone. It can be very slow to install. It sat in one place on my phone for 6-7 minutes before it finished.

I agree with JMatts. I thought mine had stopped working too, as the bar stopped advancing almost at the end for about 15 minutes. It then completed. Also the reboot took forever, I thought it was hungup on the split Apple screen, but eventually it also continued.

I'm seeing the same issue on my iPad 3, my iPhone 4 worked just fine. But on the iPad it's as if it's just stuck, it sits there doing nothing and the time estimate stays at "Estimating time remaining..."

My 4s has been stuck at "Estimated time remaining..." for about 2 hours ...... and now it just said "Less than 1 minute remaining..." -- we'll see about that...

now it's saying "About 2 mins..."

NOW it's "About 11 mins..."

My guess is to just leave her be, and pray she figures things out on her own.

I am updating my software from my iPhone 4S. The error message says "Software Update Failed. An error accurred downloading iOS 6." I tried downloading it for like 10 times already 😢 I even restared my phone twice and re-connect my Wifi after the Error Message showed.. What should I do?

Mine was just stuck on the second update screen for about 6-7 hours. I tried doing a restore via iTunes but it wanted to download the iOS 6 update package first and it was going to take over 20 hours! I just did a manual hard reset on the phone from the power and home button and it restored and has iOS 6 on it now and is back to normal!

still getting the "estimating time remaining.." problem..then after a while the "error" something message appears so i have to download again but i keep on getting the same problem over and over again. 😠 what can i do? is it because of the many people downloading it?

I'm having the same issue with the error and estimated time? I've tried multiple times to get it to load but just won't? I was excited to get ios 6 but now I'm just disappointed! If this keeps up, I'll call apple and see what they suggest...

I'm fairly certain it has to do with server loads. My iPad did eventually complete the process overnight and it installed this morning while I was taking a shower w/o issue. It's humming along now just fine.

However, if you're receiving the error message I may suggest plugging it into a PC/Mac and do the upgrade via iTunes. You still can go that route can't you? Not sure if you *have* to use the WiFi option but I highly doubt it.

Thanks, and I have tried to plug it into my computer and update it. It says the Internet connection timed out? I even made sure I hade a strong connection and I did, also I updated iTunes! Still don't know why it won't load? And what iPad do u have? I have he 3rd. Anyone else having this issue?
