My iOS 6 Update was successful up to: "To finish setting up iCloud, iMessage, and FaceTime enter the Apple ID..."
I enter the correct information and I get the following:
"Could Not Sign In - The request timed out."
I've done a hard restart and it brings me back to the iOS6 screen to try the same log in.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Not much more info to add here, except i'm experiencing the same error. I'm on iPhone 4.
I had the same issue. After about 10 attempts I decided to skip signing in to iCloud. Going through setting later on, I experienced the same timeout issue. Killed all apps, turned wifi off and on, and retried with success. However wifi issues remained. I suspect that the AppStore app may be a contributing factor, so try to stay away from that for now...
When I left the office, got home, tried the same on my home wifi network was golden. It is all set. Now to deal with the wifi issues with the new system.

My wife had same problem. She just did a hard restart and everything was ok. It's the time-old "switch it off and switch it back on again"! No need to close apps.
