iOS6 deleted all of my voice memos.

After the iOS6 install I noticed that all of my voice memos had been deleted. My entire list is blank. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how have you been able to correct and or restore the memos.

I did find that all of my voice memos had synced to iTunes. They were placed in a special playlist titled "Voice Memos", go figure. I should mention that I recently synced my iPhone on Sunday night (it is now Wednesday night). As such, all of the memos were saved.

Not sure if this helps anyone else out, but I was fortunate enough to find them withing iTunes.

Add me to the list of being beyond pi&&ed at this!!!

I am PAYING Apple to back my phone and iPads

To the Cloud.....and don't plug my phone to a computer anymore to backup.

Are my missing voice memos somehow backed up in the Cloud????

Between this and the Map app, this is the biggest failure I've had with Apple in my more than 12 year relationship with the company. Absolutely, ridiculously unforgivable.

THIS WORKS FOR RECOVERY OF LOST VOICE MEMOS (following software update)!!!

Hello my friends of lost memos, I too experienced the horrific incident of all my memos gone following a software update. I wanted to say; I followed Scott_et instructions -- downloaded iExplorer -- it was jiff fast, and you don't have to buy the program to recover your memos, you can recover/copy/transfer through the demo version. And wintersong's instruction are spot for a quick process.

Best of luck to you all, I know your pain, there is a cure.

Thank you Scott_et and wintersong for the info, you are both saintly saints!

This is why computer geeks always say "backup, backup, backup" 😐

If you had set your device to sync over wifi, then your memos may be in iTunes as a backup.

Unfortunately, I do not believe that music and voice memos are part of the iCloud backup unless you arranged for larger data storage and manual storage.

If you subscribed to iTunes Match, all your music would be safe in the cloud but I am not certain about voice memos even though they are part of the music library.

This is why before I upgrade I always make a backup first, and after the upgrade restore I restore from backup to get everything back on the new device.

I hope that you are able to find your files on your computer or at your last backup 🙂

EDITED TO ADD: But you all are right. This is something that Apple should address.

Help!!! My voice memos aren't in iTunes and when I try to use iExplorer it says that no backup data exists. Is there any hope of recovering my files? I am a song writer and countless songs, melodies and harmonies in my voice memos. I also have important lectures for school saved there. How could I know a routine update would delete my memos?

iOS6 deleted all of my voice memos.
