My playhead and skimmer in FCP X seem to be locked together and now I can't get the playhead to move via the mouse. I have NO idea what I may have inadvertantly hit, but it's totally screwed me up and I don't see any "help" subjects that address this. I just want to get back to the normal playhead / skimmer config.

OK, I restarted FCP X and it seems to have "unlocked" my skimmer and playhead. That's a strange glitch... Apple, you need to make note of that for the next update release - that could get really old and frustrating very quickly.
Anyone else experienced this? Sound off so the FCP X gurus will take notice!

What do you by unlocked and locked? Is the skimmer is turned on it is independent of the playhead except during playback. If you press the S key and turn the skimmer off, then the playhead has to be moved by dragging.
The playhead and skimmer were locked together and neither would respond to the mouse. I understand the turning on and off skimming with S, but that wasn't my issue. They were indeed "locked" together and neither would move AT ALL on the timeline. I closed FCP X and reopened the app... problem solved. So, I guess I answered my own question and uncovered an intermittent bug in the program.
