IOS 6 sync exchange calendar issue

After upgrading to iOS 6, i tried to add an exchange account for my google calendars. I end up in an endless loop of it asking for my password.

Completely delete account and start over only to end up in the same loop. It goes through all the setup, appears to be ok saves the account and then about 10 seconds later starts prompting me for a password...

All settings are correct (server is m.google.com) user name and password are correct.

thoughts?

thanks!

The is something seriously weird here!!!!! After they stopped working on Thursday or thereabouts Nothing would work on my iPad to get Gmail and calendar going.

Tried adding my Gmail & calendar to my wife's iPad using the Gmail setup option. Worked perfectly, both appeared instantly.

So, decided to take the total reset route, deleted everything and restored iPad completely.

Still the same problem

- using the Gmail route to sort up mail and calendar just sits doing "adding account" for ever.

- using the exchange route for BOTH - same result

- set up email only using the Gmail approach works

- set up calendar only via Exchange - set up completes, but nothing appears in calendar and calendar app just sits there with the little "activity circle" spinning - for ever

At the same time reminders will only replicate occasionally and inconsistently via iCloud. They behave in the same way just sits there with the little "activity circle" spinning - for ever.

Come on Apple, this is clearly a problem YOU have created, lets see a fix soon.

Finally gave up and made a Genius appointment. Turns out something had corrupted the core software, hence restoring from backup just reinstalled the problem. The fix was a DFU reset back to factory status. The nice young man (kudos to Shaun Hilyer at the West Quay Genius Bar) showed me how to do this myself.

All now fixed, although the moving all data out he hard way before doing this was a pain - inherent weakness of iOs deign!

Yes, you can do this yourself. Google DFU mode for your device, lots of YouTube examples. NOTE - this really deletes EVERYTHING and you restart as if a totally new device. In my case because something was corrupted loading the backup simply reinstalled the problem, so you have to take other steps to make sure you can recover your data from a source(s) other than you iCloud or iTunes backup.

Do the DFU process, initialise e machine as if new and re-set up all your accounts, reinstall all apps etc etc.

This is drastic, time consuming, but it worked for me.

Good luck!

I had googlesync account prior. The only job was to sync with apple calendar. In iOS 6 it didn't work. I deleted it and simply turned on calendar button in mail account settings and everything syncs beautifully. I can add events through siri and they show up in google calendar seamlessly. I change or add on web and the content magically shows up on my iPhone.

I used Exchange in order to sync my calenders only. It appears Apple have now developed the capacity for this to happen from Gmail to phone and back without Exchange, so I just deleted my Exchange account and re-synced my calendars, email and notes through Gmail. Haven't experience any issues so far. Why this hasn't happened before is the real question...

I am having the same problem with my Google calendar.

The app that I had on my phone to allow me to go right into the Google calendar stopped working. When I go into Google calendar through the the Google app I get only some of my calendar entries, even though they all show up if I go to Google calendar on the web with my Macbook.

If I go through Safari on the phone and then to Google calendar, then I can get all the entries, but in a format that is very hard to read. There is then a banner on the calendar that says if you are having problems viewing this calendar on your mobile device, tap here. When I do that I get the version of Google with absolutely nothing on the calendar!!

I tried deleting my Google account on the phone, and then putting it back on, but that didn't work I am still only getting some of the entries.

So from what I can tell it looks like it is the mobile version of the Google calendar that is the problem. This is a major problem for me, since I really depend on being able to see the Google calendar on my iPhone. All of this started after the 1OS6 upgrade. Anybody that can help, I would really appreciate it!!!

This is definitely a sporadic iOS6 problem

Having had problems, fixed by a total DFU reset, this had been working for a couple of weeks. Suddenly, yesterday it stopped, even though sync to and from PC and display in PC browser works OK.

Now I can't see Google calendar in Google iOS app at all, can see SOME of it in Safari and it refuses to sync to iPhone or iPad.

Is this a campaign by Apple to annoy and frustrate people into using iCloud for everything?
