It works the same way in Singapore, one of the most wired and connected countries in the world. Our mass rapid transit (MRT) is used by millions every day. Just today I was Searching for "kent ridge mrt", a train station near me, on apple maps - it directs me to ridge port drive NW Michigan, on the other side of the planet. Google on the other hand, gets it precisely. In fact, the train station and even the train lines are missing on apple maps. Hilarious.

Has anyone tried the "Maps + Street View" app by Brainflash? The reviews look good but, even though it's only 69p, I'm very cautious about getting it. Once bitten twice shy now when it comes to maps on the ipad.

Yup. They should not throw viruses and creepy crawlies. And when they are behind an Apple firewall that allows them to spend most of their time amassing points on forums like this but does not allow them to see a video on The Onion, they should not throw these things. Waiting for improved Apple Map. I lost several time and stop using it. I found a couple of free map apps here. Waze is best one from the list. Hope this help..
