Apple maps very disappointing

Having just downloaded iOS 6 I am hugely disappointed with apple maps. In the UK many town names are wrong, with some missing; roads are all the same colour; satellite image resolution is not as good as it was previously. Sure, the 3D map in London is good but it only covers an area a few square miles, so is currently more of a gimmick.

So questions i have...

1) Are others experiencing the same?

2) Will it get better and if so how quickly?

3) Will there be a google maps app released soon?

iPhone 4S, iOS 6

Apple maps is so bad I actually gave a thought about what it would be like switching to Android and I never ever thought I would say that. It would be so much better to give us choose between Google or Apple for default maps.

I use the search all the time and street view, search is now broken badly inside maps and basically unusable, street view is gone.

With that being said, I think they will throw some money at this to get it up to speed faster...they have to, this is not going to go away and if they ignore it, it will hurt them. Throw a few of those billions around and buy a fleet of cars and do a BETTER street view, flyover is no big to me and looks like a war zone.

So for now I will use google chrome, and maps.google, but thats not how my phone should work.

I say bring back google maps by giving users a choice, at least for now.

I have been an Apple fan for 20 some years, but I have to admit Tim Cook has blown it big time with iMaps. Not only removing Google Maps without a choice. But, iMaps is so in credibly wrong that it's worse than a map drawn my a 10 year old.

I have yet to find anyplace in the US that is correct and as for home in the UK or Australia .... we might as well be on Mars. My street in NSW does not even exist while the city shows up 50 miles from where we are.

iMaps is so bad that it is totally useless. If Apple wanted to make a big bang with the iPhone5 or iOS-6 ... they definitely made it. Every newspaper, radio station and television in Australia is talking about how bad Apple dropped the ball.

We don't even have an option to remove the dang thing or download a Google map App.

Apple won't bring back Google Maps. They don't want to dish out the licensing costs. It is a great point you have in giving the user the option of which map we can use. However, Apple has always decided what we need, not what we want. Like I mentioned above, Apple has jumped the shark. Within the next two years, things will really be interesting in the Smartphone world. Apple may end up like Sony Beta did in the Video recorder wars in about 4 or 5 years. And if that happens, the internet will be there to capture it all. Critics will say it is because of the loss of Steven Jobs, but reality and time may prove that it was Apple's fault as they stopped thinking outside of the box and began thinking with their head up their arse.

My iPhone 5 will be arriving tomorrow via FedEx, so I decided I would venture out to a few different AT&T stores to see if they had any new Otterbox Defenders in early. I usually only visit the AT&T store closest to me, so I decided that this would be a great opportunity to try out Apple Maps, since I don't know where other locations are at.

Of the five stores I visited today, only one was listed, and because of the lack of labels on the maps, I actually had a hard time finding the store amongst the different buildings. Annoyingly, whenever I typed in "AT&T" or "ATT" it kept showing me a result that was very far way, in another city, and it was a result that had nothing to do with AT&T. It looked like it was someone's house on the satellite view. Worse yet, it wouldn't even show the AT&T stores when I was in them!

It's so frustrating when you depend on accurate and reliable map data. I certainly hope Apple realizes what's going on and gives us the option to switch back to Google Maps. That would be good customer service.

Apple now is supercilious 😟 let us choice between Google Maps and Apple Maps. If Apple Maps will be better, everybody will be using Apple Maps - simple !!!

Why they remove Google Maps?

We don't care about war between Google and Apple, we are Apple customers and you are (Apple) for us !!!!

Apple - do not exist without us !!!!!

So, if we are very disappointing, pls fix this immediately.

Also we need back You Tube now !!!!!

Every version of iOS to date has recieved negative reviews by some users.

16 pages of about how the Maps App is worse?

Remember "No multitasking"?

Remember "No cut, copy, and paste"?

Remeber "Deathgrip"?

How about "Yellow Tinged Screens"?

My point is, while your complaint may be valid as to the current state of the FIRST release of something, the company has always taken action and resolved many of the issues.

No one is forcing you to buy an iPhone 5 or upgrade to iOS 6. I know MANY people who kept iOS 3.2.1 instead of upgrading to iOS 4.

If you had told me 15 years ago, that I'd be video chatting with family, organizing my schedule, and watching HD movies on my PHONE, I'd have called you crazy.

I think iOS 6 is awesome, and can't wait to see what these dudes come up with next.

It's a beautiful day outside. Quit complaining and go for a walk with a loved one. Buy an ice cream cone maybe.

Peace.

Apple this is where you need to pay attention!!!! Steve Jobs would never have allowed you to release this update with the piece of garbage app for maps you've delivered. We have 6 Apple devines in our household, just to say we're loyal Apple users. Eliminating access to Google Maps & giving us a piece of garbage in exchange was a royally bad idea.

Please fix this issue fast!!!!

Reinstate Google Maps until you get the issues worked out. Your satellite view quality royally *****.
