Apple maps very disappointing

Three Years ago I bought my first Iphone JUST because of the maps.

It was more than an application... It was essencial for my job!

I also bought an Ipad to see the maps in larger screen... Now Apple just calls off Google Maps and deliver this creepy terrible maps service! Did apple guys lost their minds?

How do they deliver a beta (delta in my oppinion) product after becaming famous for the trust people have in their well done applications and products? I hope they fix it soon because Ill certainly be forced to change plataform because of this.

About the other 199 improovements, I'm looking for something reaaaaaaaly great, but until now just small ********.

Well Apple is clearly lying as it is saying that it is covering and working in the USA.

Fully agree with the fact that Apple made a huge misstake by introducing their own maps now we no longer have:

Public transport

Searching for companies or points of interest

Traffic info

Street view

etc etc

How can anyone at Apple have thought this would be a good plan? What would Steve Jobs have to say about this!

Well done Tim, give yourself a pat on the back, not long at the helm and have a look at the mess, you can paint it anyway you like with your PR spin, it's a mess, from the US to Ireland, Europe to Austrailia, the whole planet, you have managed to destroy what has taken a two decades to build, TRUST!

Yeah, but they make the coolest adapters! Even if the map isn't perfect :) and to try and shift the users frustration with the new maps...the headphone jack in on the bottom! Now how cool is that? Waiting on my 32GB S3 in the mail. A least nobody will take apps away or dictate what apps I need.

The contract between Apple and Googke ended this year and Google was going to charge absurdly high for the map loads. Google would also refuse to license Turn by Turn to anybody. They were also going to implement advertisements into the results.

You aren't going to like Android. Nobody who is complaining about maps will.

Maps does have traffic info. Steve Jobs wouldn't care, just look at Ping and MobileMe, among other things. I will assure you that he was very involved with iOS 6 and Maps.

You're buying the infinitely more complex (to the average iPhone user) S3 because of Maps and the head phone jack being moved? Have a great time dealing with inconsistent icon size, app design (sad that there is such little holo adoption), and the fantastic Google Play Store. If I were you I'd wait for the HTC 8X or Nokia Lumia 920. But if you're seriously getting the S3, unlock it and flash CyanogenMod 10 on there, and you won't regret doing so. Don't forget to get SwiftKey.

I'm a Mac user so flashing is out of the question.
