Q: Apple maps very disappointing

Having just downloaded iOS 6 I am hugely disappointed with apple maps. In the UK many town names are wrong, with some missing; roads are all the same colour; satellite image resolution is not as good as it was previously. Sure, the 3D map in London is good but it only covers an area a few square miles, so is currently more of a gimmick.

So questions i have...

1) Are others experiencing the same?

2) Will it get better and if so how quickly?

3) Will there be a google maps app released soon?

Good night.    I'm not worried about them.  They reduce to name calling because we want something from a company that we give money to.  That's just crazy.  Why would we expect something from them? I say next year they don even come out with a new phone and just pay them again for the phones we have now! Better yet.  We can all just start sending money randomly and they don't have to do anything!  Nope.   That's not me.   I guess that mean I'm a troll.  But. I will be a happy troll with my new galay. I thought I might come here and give apple another chance but it seems pointless.

Only to try to convince you that you are asking the impossible. But you have made it clear that you cannot accept this. Stay  happy with your delusion.

All I can say is  I'm glad I noticed what was happening w ios6 when I "upgraded" my ipad before i went ahead and destroyed my iphone 4S. I've kept it safe for now....hopefully a future os upgrade will be better before I am forced to lose what I love about my phone. In the meantime, it's time to sell my Apple stock before the world finds out that w/o Steve Jobs the products are going downhill. Some folks must see the writing on the wall -- it's already down 50 points this week.

Thanks Apple, it was nice while it lasted...I bought at 95.

Yes.   Apple up til now has worked wonderful for me.  I didn't think anything of it when I upgraded.  Had no reason too.  Wish I would've looked into I before I did it.  Now I'm stuck.  I wonder how much I'm going to get when I sell it back.

Oh yes, way less with iOS 6 on it than with any other OS there was.  The iDevices right now with iOS 5 still on them bring way bigger bucks than the ones that have been upgraded to iOS 6.

This is for two reasons, one because of what you've already figured out and two because of the JB community.

You can sell it, I'm selling mine most likely and I'll either buy another one with iOS 5 on it or I'll be switching to the Samsung Galaxy S3.

The problem with that request is that the only possible advice has already been given but people are refusing to accept it: No one here can change anything. No one here knows when or how Apple will change anything. Therefore, the only remaining choices are use what you have or select a different hardware or software option. Personally, I like Waze.

Yeah...someone new will likely not miss what they never had. Whereas we who were happy with our products had key functionality that came in the box when we bought it taken away from us.

You should look into the galaxy note 2. Yes it's big. But wow what it can do.  I think Samsung listened to their customers.

You and your friends can at least stop removing useful posts from those who ARE trying to help us who want to revert to a previous OS.

Or, if as you say, your "advice" is falling on deaf ears here maybe you would find your time better spent elsewhere.

That'll work if they release a Verizon version.  I don't mind big personally.
