Q: Apple maps very disappointing

The maps in IOS6 are awful. I used to rely on my iphone google maps for general navigation and backup to my outdated satnav, now it's hopeless.

I hope google will add their own google maps app and i hope Apple approves it at least until they catch up.

Apple should do something about it and they should do it quick!

Send the phone back and re-install the old ios software.  The more people returning iphone 5 handsets and reverting to the old ios5 the sooner apple will react.  Money speaks!

I don't see any traffic information, and I drive in a metropolitan area (San Diego).  I have tried turning off traffic info and turning it back on.  How long until this feature works?

Just installed ios 6 on my iphone 4 I am horrified to see that Google maps and street view have been replaced with a very much inferior product with no street view at all. I use google maps including the street view on a daily basis for finding my delivery addresses in London. I was going to buy the new iphone 5 next month but I will not be getting one now, I will go get an android phone on which I can get the google maps app. Its a shame because Apples products were always known for there quality but obviously not any more.

Hopefully, all this negative publicity will encourage Apple to rectify things rather more quickly than their usual response time to user outcry.

All that does is teach a grandma how to suck eggs! We already know Apple have had a huge hissy fit at Google & thrown their toys out the pram.

The real question millions of ****** off Apple users want answered is "where does Apple get off releasing such totally useless crapeware?".

I don't care what relationship Apple does or does not have with its previous search partner, I *do* care, however, when Apple turn my £649 handset or tablet into a dumb brick.

It's not just Maps, it's Siri. Siri is crapware dressed up in Apple bling too. I can live without Siri, I can't live with Apple Maps.

Thankfully I don't have to. Go look at Apples declining share price - the scales fell away from billions of eyes today and the contempt Apple holds its customers in was laid bare.

They can develop an OS to their hearts content.

Well there is some good news. Woolworths is back in business! It's clearly shown on my local High Street on Apple Maps.

Must rush there and buy some maps.

I must agree that this is the worst map app I have ever used.  I wish I had not updated to IOS6.  The loss of Street View and the problems with the Apple map app are beyond belief.  Apple I love your hardware but I am so disappointed with so many aspects of your software and your business practices. 

i wish i had the ability to ***** about maps sucking! mine wont even load. i've been staring a the blue radiating dot, waiting for a map to load... and... nothing... yawn....

Its hard to believe iOS 6 has so many issues - maps is horrible, inadvertently some of the messages are getting deleted as I browse through (contrary to some people for whom all the messages got deleted up on upgrade), can't even get in to passbook; instead downloaded lemon wallet and that is loading for ever.
