Oct 8, 2012 3:52 PM in response to stedman1by SithPImp,You're already dealing with me and the rest of the village idiots here, so why not? That is how you start looking at "us" once you reach about level 5 or so...

Oct 8, 2012 3:54 PM in response to SithPImpby stedman1,Oh, I suspect it isn't just the Level 5+ that feel that way.

Oct 8, 2012 4:48 PM in response to Shilts9by gideyton,Google is currently creating a Google Maps app for the iOS right now, so it is not avaliable. You could create a Google Maps web app though. I'm pretty sure many other people around the world are also having problems. When Google Maps first came out, it took a lot of user input data to correct everything. Now look at Google Maps.

Oct 8, 2012 5:02 PM in response to gideytonby SithPImp,And Apple Maps will be just the same but the question is when, we're all gonna have to wait and one day in the near future (hopefully), it'll be just as good if not better with extra features not found in Google Maps.
The problem for me and many others, still, is right now the masses could be pacified with iOS 5 if Apple would just allow us to be, they won't. And they offer no excuse or reason as to why. Instead we have to rely on the watchdogs to answer for them and point out how stupid we are for such a silly, hair-brained request.

What the Levels and fanboys here don't seem to see or understand is what most people here complaining want. They either want Google Maps back into the OS, YouTube back into the OS or a complete revert back to iOS 5.
But what the Apple-bashers don't understand is that Apple maps works great for most people. It uses a fraction of the data that Google does. It works better offline. It's faster. It has turn-by-turn directions. If you are just sitting at home, playing with maps, spying on people, looking for flying saucers, then Google is the best platform. But if you are sitting at home with full-speed internet and a big monitor, then Google still works just as good as it always did. (Well, not entirely true. The search algorithm has really gone downhill. These days I have to quote everything because Google always re-writes my search queries for me.)
It goes deeper than that, there are more problems that just those 2 listed, battery life is another, email issues is also a concern. The list goes on... read around enough and you'll find all kinds of issues, a huge pile of them.
As I'm sure someone in the previous 100 pages has pointed out, people only come here when they are having problems. If there was a real problem with 100 million devices you wouldn't have a thread with 100 pages, you would have one with 10,000 pages. This is just a playground for the rantbois.

Oct 8, 2012 5:30 PM in response to etresoftby SithPImp,I'm not a basher. Up until I got stuck with iOS 6, I did everything I could to talk people into buying Apple products. So much to the point that my brother refers to me as a Mac - F_G now... So I'm not bashing them.

Oct 8, 2012 5:50 PM in response to etresoftby Felixx2011,So, why Apple's stock fell from 700 prior to iOS6's release, down to 638.17 today??. It represents a decline in 8.5% in market value in just two weeks..
Or maybe Apple stock fell because of global warming..or maybe because Lady Gaga threw on stage?
Have a nice day..

Oct 8, 2012 6:38 PM in response to Tgaraby rbrylawski,This has become my daily entertainment as well. I was sparring regularly with one of the posters, but he's shown such a low degree of rationality, it was no longer worth my time. Though, and I'm sure he knows who he is, we all look forward to the day he follows through with his promise to ditch his deplorable mal-functioning iPhone and get an Android.

Oct 8, 2012 6:55 PM in response to le.bouchby rbrylawski,le.bouch......to be honest, your tone of late has made much more sense. And you've been waaaay less confrontational. That said, if you really read the posts of us levelers, we're not defending Apple or even saying Maps is hunky-dory. And yes, many of us, myself included have likely said things we of all people who have been around a long time should not have said. But the reality is the demands being suggested are:
1. Give everyone Google Maps back, native in iOS
2. Give everyone the option to downgrade iOS
Again, having been around a long time, if history remains consistent, neither option will be forthcoming. No matter how loud the chorus sings. So, what we levelers have been saying is that there are options:
1. Use another app
2. Replace the phone with another product
Apple has to be beyond aware Maps is less than acceptable in many locations. It does work pretty well in the US. Clearly in many other countries it doesn't. I'm a headhunter by profession. I recruit technical professionals. The amount of job postings for cartographers at Apple, would lead one to conclude Apple will continue to work on Maps and one day (hopefully soon), it just may become the worldclass App they said it would. In the meantime, people can wait, use another app, or get another device better meeting their needs.
You take care.......

That's $ 628.17 - per share. I remember when Apple shares were $ 12 a share. Apple has had two stock splits since then. That is a 21172 % gain in 15 years. I think Apple can weather the storm pretty well.
