Noguiera asks a pertinent question. Because Apple's communication is decidedly one-way, we just don't know if they're even listening, let alone acting.
So you think Tim Cook was lying? Apple is not listening or fixing things?
Obviously he "heard" something from someone, else he would not have made a statement saying they are fixing it. (Maps).

Oct 13, 2012 11:00 AM in response to Chris CAby le.bouch,Man, you are _way_ to sensitive to criticism of Apple. I hope they don't let you down one day.
I was suggesting that having had Maps junked on us I now don't trust them to fix it anytime soon. I don't trust them like I did - that's all.

Criticize away but don't make up stuff.
And you didn't criticize. You stated something that was not accurate.
You were simply attempting to spread F.U.D. (google it).

Oct 13, 2012 12:53 PM in response to Shilts9by Nogueira,Considering that many phones are still running IOS 5.
Considering that if it's true, as someone has stated here, that just a minority is screaming about maps.
Considering that Apple Maps is not working properly.
Considering that even the major chief of Apple has told us to look for alternatives.
Considering that an option to downgrade to IOS 5 would make everybody happy.
Why Apple does not let us downgrade to IOS 5 ?
Simple as that.

Wow. The gatekeeper of Apple. You're too funny - thank you for your express permission to criticise Apple!
And 'FUD' too - you really are the complete comic, and terribly clever with it!
That aside, and steering past / ignoring your poor attempt to patronise me (and pretty much anyone who doesn't sing the Apple hymn with you), I didn't state anything that wasn't accurate. I know your head will explode with the notion and you will want to tell me otherwise but there ya go.
PS. For FUD see "At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better"

You didn't criticise Apple. You stated they were not doing something that they specifically stated they were doing.
FUD.
I didn't state anything that wasn't accurate.
Yes, you did. Specifically, you wrote;
"Apple's communication is decidedly one-way, we just don't know if they're even listening,
Tim Cook releasing a press announcement tells you they are.
He wrote, "we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you."
let alone acting.
Tim Cook stated, "we are doing everything we can to make Maps better." and "While we’re improving Maps".

Oct 13, 2012 2:46 PM in response to Chris CAby le.bouch,See! Your head did explode! More cleverness - 'quoting' me, then changing my words - you little tinker
Let's make this simple, so that your Apple-inebriated brain can take it all in. After all, I do have permission to criticise now
One very public apology (which Cook was forced into because of the unbelievably bad Maps) proves nothing. I know you believe them - I don't. Did you also believe Forstall when he promised 'the most powerful mapping system ever'?
Communication with Apple is one way. "Apple is not here" - remember?
They probably are doing 'everything they can' to fix Apple Maps. Maybe 'everything they can' won't be enough. Even Apple's resources may struggle to match Google's seven year head start. We will see. But for the moment - Maps blows.
No doubt you see yourself as some kind of Cupertino truth hero. The only people laughing at you more than me are probably Apple themselves.

Except that you lied.
I too laugh!

Oct 13, 2012 4:48 PM in response to Chris CAby le.bouch,Oh man. Do you _really_ want to do this? That doesn't even make sense. You're making a Level 9 fool of yourself.
You quoting Cook's PR schmooze (that I had already quoted) makes me a liar? The only liars in this are Apple who promised much but inflicted Maps on us instead.
The really great thing about all of this is that despite anything you type, you know, deep inside, that your beloved Apple, who cannot be criticised in case the walls of your world fall in, screwed this up royally. And you know that I know. And that just creeps a little bit more under your skin every day... What a nightmare for you... Everything you know is wrong..
Dark room. Thumb in mouth. Fingers in ears. Head in sand. I don't think even you need Google to work that out.

Oct 13, 2012 5:17 PM in response to le.bouchby Chris CA,Pay attention very closely.. Don't read into this more than there is.
You wrote,
"Because Apple's communication is decidedly one-way, we just don't know if they're even listening, let alone acting."
Tim Cook made a statement that Apple as listening and Apple is acting.
If they are not listening, why would he say that? Simply a coincidence and he is lying?
Map data has been updated so obviously Apple is acting.
So the simple fact is, Apple is lisening and Apple is acting, contrary to your statements.
And you, very clearly are not hearing anything except your own hollow comments...
Now go on and make some other irrelevant comments...

Oct 13, 2012 5:43 PM in response to Monsterbearmanby Monsterbearman,Over three hours & 15-20 minutes. I guess its time for me to revert to writing addresses down and finding them like I did 5 years ago: by looking at street numbers and street signs as I walk/drive by. Keep charging me the same though, it's all about YOU making more money. What comes next? do I have to use a fkin pay phone to make a call!?!!? Give that a shot and try to keep charging me 200$ a month. In the long run I think too much greed will cost you way more in the long run. Thanks guys
