Oct 17, 2012 10:44 AM in response to le.bouchby justjesper,Apple has appoligised about the lacking IOS, and more and more info is coming out to the public about just how badly the newest software has been tested.
I guess I should say lack of testing. It must have been rushed out the door, so they could match another phone on the marked.
Yet it is impossible to get any info from Apple, and all we can do is using the "black hole"
http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
or we can call
U.S. iPod, Mac and iPad technical support:
(800) APL-CARE (800-275-2273)
U.S. iPhone technical support:
(800) MY-IPHONE (800-694-7466)
And you should do so if you have not yet done so.
But why do we not hear anything from Apple ?
How can we feel appriciated by Apple, when they do not want to have a dialog with there consumers ?
Even the technical support people are getting frustrated as they get no information on what is going on eather.
Is it wrong of me to demand some information from a company who in a way downgraded my product with the faulty IOS 6 ?
Should I stay silent and just wait for Apple to see and realize that it was uterly wrong to rush this out to us ?
( I know I will now get attacked by Highlevel users on the forum. They will clame that it'a all working fine, even when apples ceo Tim cook came out applogising for ios 6 not working, and/or Apple will fix it and is doing everything they can to fix all the problems with ios6. How they know this I have no idea, as they all claim that they are not working for apple and that Apple is not looking in these discussions)

Oct 17, 2012 10:44 AM in response to le.bouchby gkinchina,"vacuously campaigning on behalf of a billion dollar corporation who could not care less whether your last breath is spent etc. "
A very effective summarisation indeed! I am not a native english speaker and I envy such writing!
I have struggled to say it in such effective terms. The image that springs to mind when you think of people like this or their posts here, is not of people praying or chanting to some personal God. The picture that springs to mind is the sheep in George Orwell's Animal Farm bleating "Two legs good. four legs bad."
If only I could capture that in prose!

Oct 17, 2012 10:49 AM in response to gkinchinaby AKRBTN,Yes but those are the people that you would most likely to get some practical help from if you had technical problems with your device, rather than the ego trippers here who just like having a good vent...

Oct 17, 2012 11:16 AM in response to Shilts9by sdc01,I will say this, come January 2013 and Apple hasn't responded by allowing their customers the choice of using iMaps or Google maps, my next phone will be an Android. Yes, I am just one customer but I suspect many others are thinking the same. For me, there are critical reasons why I need Google Maps. I love the Apple ecosystem and I believe it is superior to the Android equivalent but I am no longer investing in any apps until I see a reason to stay with Apple.
It is also principle, I am getting tired of Apple and its army of fanboys squashing decent and/or any suggestion that we should have choice?
When did Apple become the company that they once ridiculed in their epic 1984 commercial? Am I the only one who has noticed this irony?

Oct 17, 2012 11:28 AM in response to sdc01by rambinca,I had a small issue with my phone not sending or receiving mms messages and all I got from these support community higher level guys was "Go to settings and turn MMS on". Gee thanks; I, nor AT&T support, nor Apple support would have ever thought of that.
I'm switching over to an old HTC inspire this weekend. I will upgrade to Samsung S3 with my next upgrade.

Oct 17, 2012 11:39 AM in response to AKRBTNby gkinchina,I have received tech support from volunteers at company owned forums (like this one) and also on open Internet forums. I have received support for many technologies & brands. Microsoft, Toshiba, Palm, RIM ...... many more.
Everywhere, the volunteers helped or said they could not or said that they will talk to the company and find a solution.
Nowhere have I found sheep. Only here.
Repeating the company stated options do not help. The people who complain here are savvy enough to have tried them out already (or decided against it consciously). If the volunteers (are they really?) can raise the issue with Apple and help people get IOS5 Maps back, good. If they can't, why the sheep act?
I'm signing out. Bye and have fun! You will discover many surprising (and hopefully exciting) new places with Apple IOS6 Maps. That is a natural consequence of using them - lets thank Apple for bringing a little adventure into our lives?

Oct 17, 2012 11:59 AM in response to Shilts9by gkinchina,Can't resist posting an illustration of the sheep analogy. A little more extreme perhaps, but a fairly accurate expression - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1nS3B-MTno

Oct 17, 2012 12:13 PM in response to rambincaby KC7GNM,And he tried to help with the limited information you gave him. You only get out what you put in. I have seen too many posts like yours without providing useful information on the problem. Saying you have been through the wringer with apple and AT&T is really vague.
