Sep 29, 2012 9:31 AM in response to IdrisSeabrightby gkinchina,Apple reads the posts.
That's good enough for me and others to post their issues here.
The complaint links are black holes. Nobody knows what happens there.

This is a place for people to complain and so they will.
No, it's not.
If your Submission contains the phrase "I'm sorry for the rant, but…" you are likely in violation of this policy.

The Host read the posts when people report those posts for violations. Other than that, they aren't paying any attention to you.

There's no feedback to customers other than arrogance and worthless apologies from Captain Cook.
I reckon any messages go straight to Trash..!
Quick poll : Anyone ever heard back anything from Apple Feedback team?
No, they don't do that... Handy.
How about we have a useful technical solution from this Apple support forum that actually returns the functionality we all want?
Apple people on the Forum - how can we persuade Apple they've made a massive c*ck-up and that just having Captain Cook apologise doesn't fix the problem.... They need to let us choose iOS5 if we want it back.

Sep 29, 2012 9:35 AM in response to gkinchinaby rbrylawski,This is not a complaint forum. Clearly you didn't read nor understand what you agreed to when you signed up.
But, arguing with you is not something I have any interest in doing, so you're right. I will move on and have a very nice relationship with my device, which works just fine.

Sep 29, 2012 9:36 AM in response to rbrylawskiby lynnfromleigh,Thank you for your technical support ribrylawski
The post I made which was deleted was not a rant.
It was a warning for people not to complain, it was also a request to Apple to help by giving us back what we had when we purchased our Apple devices.
If anyone can post technical help on how to achieve that it would be much appreciated as the suggestions to use other apps simply do not fulfil that.

I replied to the wrong person, so my apologies as my post was not in response to your post.
However, in answer to your question, writing here to ask Apple to give back Google Maps (if that was what you were asking) is not likely going to get you Google Maps back. Many have offered alternatives, including adding Google Maps to your home page (which works just fine, although a bit slower) and/or using alternative maps is what your current options are.

There are a number of recent changes which are quite probably attibutable to concerted feedback campaigns: making the function of the slider on the side of the iPad user selectable, a couple of changes in iTunes, the ability to remove addresses from autofill in iOS.
The problem with that link is you don't get lots of attention from other people who want to complain about the same thing. I can see where that would be unsatisfiying.

Nobody anything says will convince me or most others who post their Maps issues here otherwise.

Sep 29, 2012 10:08 AM in response to rbrylawskiby gkinchina,Be on the lookout for Google Maps App as soon as it is released and also to encourage people to take action (you know all the ways that consumers can take action) to get IOS 5 Maps back as an interim solution.

Sep 29, 2012 9:50 AM in response to rbrylawskiby AppleMapFail,Am glad in the US it all works dandy for you.
Great.
The other lame fixes suggested do not bring back the functions I bought an iPhone and iPad for.
It's not enough to say oh, yeah we broke your phone - but if you hold on and do our job for us by correcting our awful maps - it will all be OK.
Some of us rely upon maps every day.
They used to work well - now they don't at all.
Tried driving one of our elderly ladies to her family today - it took me an hour and a half longer to do a 30 minute journey - why? The app took us confidently to the address - which wasn't there.
A distressed old lady - me ringing the office for the relatives details and an old fashioned 'talk down' got us there late for the lunch and we were 15 miles away - in the wrong direction.
Apple maps had Sandpiper Crescent called Sandpiper Close - one on one side of town the other on the opposite side...
Tragic and real world example of why it isn't working.
