Sep 29, 2012 10:00 AM in response to gkinchinaby Ex-Apple Fan,Thanks but unfortunately there is a huge perfomrance difference between the original Google Map Application and the "application" you get from Google on IOS 6. It uses safari again of course.
Turn by Turn feature isn't there and the position tracking disappears for no reason.
Google Maps Application... Nothing Compares......to YOU.

Sep 29, 2012 10:02 AM in response to Ex-Apple Fanby rbrylawski,Yes, quite serious. If I'm going to participate in a community forum, especially one hosted by the product manufacturer, I read what's acceptable and what's not. I've been around a long time now. I'm level 6 for my efforts helping people with their devices. I spend countless hours, volunteering my time to help people solve issues. And that gives me satisfaction. I also read the owners manuals for my car, phone camera, my appliances, etc. Goofy I guess. But that irks you why?

Sep 29, 2012 10:10 AM in response to TheRealPorkchopby gkinchina,I'm almost there at level 98. You think this forum will give us some credit for our efforts out there in the real world? Maybe they could give us a level 11 or 12 or something like that?

Sep 29, 2012 10:12 AM in response to IdrisSeabrightby AppleMapFail,Meg,
I don't know why you have such an attitude to people who are seeking a technical solution by the only 'official' method that actually gets a response.
This isn't about five mins of fame. This is about fixing something Apple broke and stole from its customers.
I'd be gleefully happy never to come on this forum again if you give me a technical solution right now on how I get an integrated (maps/cal/contacts) mapping solution that actually takes me and others at the elderly care organisation accurately to an address we put in. Google maps, bing and all the others don't integrate with contacts which we update to devices using iCloud..
We did have this. Now we don't.
That's why we're annoyed.
No amount of mapping feedback to Apples team will fix that in tome before we are forced to use something else that works
That's why we want a solution - the best so far is for Apple to allow customers to go back to iOS 5 whilst they sort this mess out.
Anyone who pushes repeatedly for that appears to get silenced.
One person on here (Jingling) had his whole business at risk, had tried conventional ways to get a solution - but Apple were unresponsive.
What you are seeing is people coming to the only place they think they might remotely get heard, because they're hurting.
I'm afraid your posts put you in the category of school bully - who doesn't want to help find or get a technical solution - just quell dissent. That's really not very pleasant.
Now where is your technical solution to the issue please?

There is currently not technical solution to your problem, as has been pointed out to numerous times in this thread and others. Therefore, the only possible response is advise people to use the proper channels to express their feelings to Apple.

Sep 29, 2012 10:30 AM in response to IdrisSeabrightby AppleMapFail,Thanks for your response Meg.
Apple have had my views already.
Without any feedback I have no idea what they've done with them...
I've downloaded this entire thread onto text and am sending it automatically to the URL given.. Should keep someone busy - oh, but I forgot. It goes straight to Trash.

Sep 29, 2012 10:50 AM in response to AppleMapFailby lynnfromleigh,Tim Cook tells us to use Bing or Mapquest from the App store, or even use Google Maps via the Safari browser.
At one time the by-line was "There's an App for that"
Now it seems "there's a Map for that"

Sep 29, 2012 10:53 AM in response to IdrisSeabrightby Ex-Apple Fan,Once upon a time there was companies so called Industry Leaders and they were called Nokia, RIM, i-Mate, ...etc. and where are they now?
These companies didn't develop or innovate fast enought so their customers left them to other suppliers who did. None of them voluntarily did anythin to hurt their existing clients. This is the first time ever I see a company intentionally hurting its clients and pushing them to its competitors. I work in subscription sales and I pamper my clients all year long to get them to renew with me the next year. I am just unable to comprehend why and how Apple is doing the opposite of everything we have learnt and practiced about sales and growth.
None of Apple Army Nerds is able to measure or quantify the damage Apple did to itself with this iLost Map application and by not allowing clients to "downgrade" but I don't blame the nerds for that. These things require vision and immagination and nerds aren't famous of having much or even any of that.

Sep 29, 2012 11:06 AM in response to IdrisSeabrightby Westmeath,I have submitted feedback.
I am returning my iPhone 5 because of the poor maps.
I am stuck with an iPhone 4S and a new iPad that are now severely crippled.
I am seriously considering switching to Android, not something I want to do, but I need maps that work.

Sep 29, 2012 11:11 AM in response to Westmeathby modular747,I have to agree. Humankind has had to suffer ice ages, plagues, world wars, genocide, nuclear weapons, incompetent NFL officiating, and now these Maps... How much more can we take?

Sep 29, 2012 11:20 AM in response to modular747by justjesper,Apple appoligised.
is that good enough ?
Did Apple give us any info regarding when this would be working ?
To the people saying its working in the US are WRONG.
I'm in NYC and it's not working here. I was looking up a store and maps was placing it in union square park.
In the park ??? Jesus Apple.
this is Fuc*ing rediculos
Have we all given Feedback to Apple ? I'm sure we did.
Apple has to realize that it's not good enough.
I know what will happen.
Apple will do ABSOLUTLY NOTHING. but to try to keep our voices down.
So happy i now have a.. iLost phone

Sep 29, 2012 11:27 AM in response to modular747by Ex-Apple Fan,Guys...does Apple ask you to make fun of unsatisfied clients? How much do you get for that?
A large group of clients with tens of pages in tens of threads are complaining and that doesn't make you believe this is a serious issue? Your CEO apologized but we need the downgrade to 5.1.1 or the new Google Maps App immediately. That is the accepted apology for us.
We paid Apple in full and we deserve to get the services we have paid for in full.
If you haven't been hurt and your daily life routine hasn't been affected badly then millions of customers of this company had. Why do you make fun of them? What is your intentions? If you can't help it then why can't you be neutral?
