I think it in Apple's policy never to get in contact with there costumers, as it could make them look like they cared.
That's dead wrong, as many long-time participants here will attest. I have been contacted by Apple personnel on several occasions regarding the issues discussed on this board. In fact, if you read the terms of use for this forum, you will see that it states that Apple personnel may contact the participants.
This whole thread is turned into rant central and is rapidly becoming completely pointless. Apple has acknowledged the problems with the maps, and has offered solutions, as have several long-time users here. I am sure Apple personnel are also working to make the Maps better as quickly as possible.. Whining and moaning from the peanut gallery may make you feel better, but it will not do anything to fix the current map issue. You will just have to use some of the solutions offered already or switch devices.

That is great news.
Perhaps if Apple did take this seriously thet would stop deleting posts here and get things done.
This is a massive oppertunity for Apple to get in touch with us "not so pleased" users.
Honestly like to hear how many actually heard from Apple when giving them feedback. Think your a very lucky user

Sep 29, 2012 12:36 PM in response to Tgaraby Westmeath,I am hopeful of getting some acknowledgement of the error reports I have submitted, but I think they are probably too snowed under with work to reply to people at the moment.
The Apple support guy I rang here in Australia was very empathetic but couldn't offer any real solution to my problem. I am not here to bag Apple. I simply want devices that work.

Sep 29, 2012 1:12 PM in response to Shilts9by Nogueira,Apple has been COOKED and became rotten. IOS 6 is a ridiculous piece of operating system. Poor battery life. Maps that leads you to nowhere. Some new features good for nothing. There should be an option to return to iOS 5. I've got an iphone 4s and a Galaxy Note with Android which is far best than this piece of crap codenamed IOS 6. Apple has really gave to us, costumers, a kick in the back. It's unbelivable that they didn't test the app maps before it was released. Listen !!! Apple !!! We buy your products. We feed your mouths with money we earned with hard work. WE DESERVE RESPECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sep 29, 2012 1:33 PM in response to AppleMapFailby modular747,Please don't simply dismiss those of us who have come here to the only place where we actually get a two way discussion as fools and whingers.
What "two way discussion"??? Apple doesn't participate here and anyone who dares to suggest even that things are being blown out of proportion are being dumped on by posters such as yourself. Your username alone belies your agenda - you have absolutely no interest in any "help" other than piling on me-too-drones.
That in automotive terms is theft. In the software world we are supposed to support it and just keep quiet?
That totally ridiculous, inane analogy is just what I'm talking about. Comparing switching out hardware with a software change is as lame as it can get. There are alternative software for the iPhone RIGHT NOW. Of course, employing those will do nothing for your grotesquely bloated sense of entitlement (not to mention p***-off your sponsor).

It's quite obvious Apple venom is running in your viens. Apple did NOT say these were solutions. Do you not have a basic understanding of Engrish? The "suggestions" Cook mentioned are just a temporary emergency band-aid interim meansure.. That's like using a pair of pantyhose to wrap around your drive belt tensioner when you fan belt breaks and saying it's a solution.
You should not be making any comments in any forum if you're bottom line remark is, "if you don't like it, get something else". You have a very bad attitude. If you can't change your attitude, you should not be participating in this forum. Thank you and have a pleasant day

Sep 29, 2012 2:59 PM in response to Shilts9by shemwill1,So true. In Jamaica, most of the places are spelt wrong and Flyover is not there. What is wrong with Apple this year ? Ever since Steve left us, nothing's right at Apple Inc.

Go pound sand, Homey. Is you with the venom, hurling insults at people who are trying to make you face reality.
Not participate in the forum? Uh, I have over 2000 help points and you have, wait for it, ZERO. So who is helping who again?
Since you seem to know everything, what would you want Apple to do differently right now, this minute, to get maps working the way you want? Maybe in your drug-induced reality they could wave a magic wand and make it work better, but in the real world, they can't.
Despite your rant, the basic choice remains the same: wait for Apple to improve the maps, choose a different map app from the app store, or switch devices. Pick one, and move on. But don't denigrate people who are trying to help you face reality.

Sep 29, 2012 4:16 PM in response to AppleMapFailby modular747,I've actually had some useful suggestions for solutions and alternatives as opposed to solely the unnecessary insults from you.....and came here for any tips or tricks to get the product I bought back..
In truth you dismissed out of hand EVERY suggestion as inadequate.
If you actually knew anything at all about iOS, you would know that all the suggested software does not have the integration with Cal, Contacts or iCloud.
EVERYONE knows about the integration factor, but we realize that you barely need 3 digits in your IQ to work around that. The lack of integration is a minor inconvenince at most - not the game stopping flaw you'd like it to be.
Your drone about "its all ok and to just keep quiet whilst you help Apple crowd source the database" misses the point that some of us need a working integrated map application today.
Never said that or anything like it. Return to this universe.
You remind me of someone else I came across once, his name was Richard Head.
We called him Dick for short.
I hope for your sake you haven't reached your 12th birthday....
I would post under my normal ID - but Apple's familiarity with the erase button on this thread led me to be more circumspect for now.
Only a genuine moron (and genuine morons are rare) would post that for the hosts to see... BYE...

Exactly the wrong attiutude for this forum. You should be here to help other users, not bash Apple.
