Sep 29, 2012 8:35 PM in response to Monsterbearmanby Parlett,It is inconvenient, agreed, but you can get street view for free via the live street view app. So we are going from one fully integrated app to two non- integrated apps. If the rumor mill is to be believed google is working on street view for the web version.

Sep 29, 2012 8:41 PM in response to Shilts9by Monsterbearman,People are disappointed with the new maps. That is a fact. So for goofballs to get on this discussion and tell them they are wrong and that there are alternative apps to download so they should shut up is b.s.. I don't want to run 3 different maps programs. The main reason I liked the iPhone was its simplicity and having to switch between different map setups for different situations is unacceptable. Everyone I have talked to about the new maps is dissatisfied and I know apple will lose money because of this. I for one will not be purchasing the new iPhone anymore.

Sep 29, 2012 9:12 PM in response to Wiedergangerby modular747,I personally doubt that Apple will be able to get to the data quality that Google offers mid or long term.
Fortunately, your inexpert opinion is meaningless. Just more lame propaganda from Samsung and Google.
The last thing we do need is some level 6 dwarf entering the arena and screaming blue murder because someone dares to (rightly) critcise his master and idol.
At least the imagery you use is something you dweeb ranters can relate to. Maybe most of you are 12 years old and can only understand things in terms of video games, us vs them, and others telling you what to do. Stay in your infantile universe.
If you think that iOS 6 is so f**** brilliant and the best thing since sliced bread, go ahead and open your own Apple Maps appreciation thread -
Since I never said anything about iOS 6 and never even said Maps was good (which it isn't), yet another remark from you coming out of the wrong orifice. Your brain has not developed enough to understand beyond us vs them, like it or hate it, flame vs. fan. Maybe when you complete puberty you'll have a clue. The issue is how you deal with the problem. No one is denying there is one.
Until that time, I am looking forward to a Galaxy Note 2 that will ship on Monday, people like you have tought me that the best way of dealing with such problems is to be pragmatic and vote with your feet
That's actually great, particularly if you leave this forum for good. Promise?

Sep 30, 2012 4:24 AM in response to modular747by Ex-Apple Fan,Why is it so difficult for you to accept that the majority customers of your idol didn't like the new upgrade and all what they are asking for is to go back to where they were before the upgrade.
I personaly upgraded because of this picture whch misleads me and fooled millions of customers too.
Is Apple Maps application "the most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever"? Your CEO went out apologising, your site changed that text to become "All in a beautiful vector-based interface that scales and zooms with ease" instead of "the most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever".
All what we are crying for is to get us back to IOS 5.1.1 so that we could continue our lives using Gogle Maps until you sort out your maps and because you mislead us to IOS 6 with your false advertising.
I bought the most expensive Apple iPhone (4S 64GB) and I need the correct maps now. I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't have the Gogle Maps of course. I live in Dubai and iLost Maps covers nothing in Dubai or in the region at all. No turn by turn, no fly over view, no route direction, just nothing. It is as good as a tiny small digital version of the local paper map. This is not "the most beautiful, powerful mapping service ever".

Sep 30, 2012 12:09 AM in response to Ex-Apple Fanby modular747,Dear Apple Fanbois and Gals,
Classic. Anyone who disputes YOU is called a name which is always a cliche, lacking not only a clue as to what was said, but no imagination or creativity in your feeble "insult."
Why is it so difficult for you to accept that the majority customers of your idol didn't like the new upgrade and all what they are asking for is to go back to where they were before the upgrade.
Not my idol (you couldn't pronounce mine) and you don't have the remotest clue what the "majority" think. In fact, the great majority of iPhone users hardly use Maps at all, and don't notice or give a flying frack about the change.
I believe we should legally get IOS 5.1.1 back not even as a bless from your master.
If I had a master, the only thing he/she/it would be inclined to do is laugh at you.
All what we are crying for is to get us back to IOS 5.1.1 so that we could continue our lives using Gogle Maps until you sort out your maps and because you mislead us to IOS 6 with your false advertising.
If you are so naive as to make a major upgrade in the iOS based on an ad, without reading up on it on the web site and elsewhere, knowing full well in advace of your dependency gettting anywhere on Maps, and knowing that you can't go back, you got run over by your own bus. Tell me, who put that .45 to your head to compell you to update day one?

Sep 30, 2012 4:36 AM in response to modular747by Ex-Apple Fan,Man... who gives you the right to speak to me in this manner?
Yes I upgraded based on an ad and a conference and a release driven by your iSorry CEO of the company I bought my device from. I didn't read because I have never read a software license agreement before and the vast majority of sane people don't read software license agreements.

Sep 30, 2012 1:35 AM in response to Ex-Apple Fanby lynnfromleigh,Ohhh! please don't rise to the bait.
You are giving him exactly what he is here to get.
Before you were baited everything you said was resonable and made perfect sense.
We are simply customers who have been badly let down and just want back what we paid for.
Please use the 'Like' button and just ignore what you don't like.
Things that are ignored usually go away.

Sep 30, 2012 4:39 AM in response to modular747by le.bouch,There's a world outside of Cupertino and, dare I say it, Central Florida. In this world, people have a real issue with Apple at the moment. Because you declare it a non-issue does not make it so.
Strangely, I agree with you on one point. The only pragmatic way forward in the Maps saga is to employ a work around or switch platforms. But that's the only option because of Apple's intransigence, not because it's the right one. If others wish to continue to call Apple out over this, why don't you let them? Because, simply, it's none of your business.

Sep 30, 2012 2:05 AM in response to le.bouchby modular747,It didn't take me particularly long to get my points and I spend much more time outside and with friends and family than you likely do.
Brush up on your reading comprehension - I don't defend Apple. You're falling into the cliche troll trap of assuming that anyone who disputes inflammatory bovine excrement posted here is defending anything but the facts.
You surround yourself with the flamers and their bloggers and think you are in the center of things. I must know 20 people living all over the country, who have iPhones and updated and none are upset, even though some have noticed the loss of street view. I don't doubt that there are more problems in Dubai than Denver, but the preposterous bashing posted in this thread defy logic. The thread looks like it's filled by paid android drones and over-entitled middle shoolers. Whining and complaining here about not being able to downgrade is not being read by Apple.
And again, I never brought up my points or asked anyone to leave in this thread - you REALLY have some reading issues.

You're hilarious. Although I suppose you could take your iPad outside and continue to post.

Well, you're certainly attacking people - so what are you defending? I've seen some excitable comments in this thread, but nothing that's BS, and certainly nothing that's not true. Apple screwed up their mapping system. Fact. How people have relayed or commented on that fact has varied..

I surround myself with information and education, nothing more. And congratulations on having 20 friends (in the US) - they must be very proud. As I say, because you declare it a non-issue does not make it so.

Sep 30, 2012 2:30 AM in response to le.bouchby modular747,Although I suppose you could take your iPad outside and continue to post.
I don't post outside, and I spend enough time getting around so that I don't need Google or any other maps to get i want to go, driving at least 50-75 miles a day. When I go somewhere truly unfamiliar, I use a car based nav system, and have been mislead enough times to double check with other sources when getting there on time is critical. The few times I used Google maps on the phone, it was near useless.
Well, you're certainly attacking people
I only "attack" in response, to the typical trolls lashing out at "fanboys", claiming that the "vast majority" agree with them.
Yes, it is a fact that Maps is substandard and a disappointment. Most people don't care. The minority who actually depend on a smarthphone to get anywhere should be concerned about their dependence as much as the maps itself.

Sep 30, 2012 2:33 AM in response to le.bouchby lynnfromleigh,Please do not respond to him.
You cannot reason with the unreasonable.
Please just use the like button (as you have done before) and ignore what you do not like.

Sep 30, 2012 2:38 AM in response to lynnfromleighby modular747,The "unreasonable" being defined as anyone who won't agree with you...
FYI, "ignoring" me won't make me go away.
