Q: WIFI Issues on New iPad with iOS 6

Hello, All:

Today, as almost all the world, I decided to upgrade my OS from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 6. All went relativately fine. It was installed fine and also WIFI was working as expected. My problem started when after a few minutes of using WIFI applications, it suddenly loses connection. For example, if I am using Safari, it doesn't open pages anymore. If I am using Apple Maps, it says it is not connected to the internet even when I am seeing the strong signal.

I have to turn off the WIFI and Turn On again and sometimes it misses the configuration and I have to enter the security code again. But after a while it starts working again for a few minutes.

I was checking (but not so much) that when I inactivate Siri, it seems there are no such problems with WIFI, but when I turn on Siri, I start having issues.

So this is my question, do you know what is going on here? is this a general issue? everyone is having same issues?

And most important, is there any solution?

I appreciate all your answers.

All I did was go to SETTINGS->GENERAL->WiFi tap on the little blue arrow by the desired wi-fi network and turn HTTP Proxy and turn to Auto.

I had the same problem, but all you have to do is restart the ipad by holding down the home button and sleep button for 10 to 15 seconds. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the problem I'm having. After updating to iOS 6, my ipad 2 orientation is messed up. It won't rotate. I tried restarting my ipad but it doesn't work. Also it isn't locked, so that's not the case. I don't know what to do, HELP!

    Hi all,

Initially i had this issue when upgraded my MacBook Pro to Mountain Lion. The same issue happened to my ipad 2 and iphone 4 when upgraded to IOS 6. I tried all the possible fixed from reset my network, removing cloud etc but nothing worked.

Today I decided to buy a new wireless router as my laptop was working fine on other wifi networks. Surprisngly, I worked... My new Belkin wireless router did resolve the issue.

Keep in mind all my apple devices were working before the upgrade to IOS6/mountain lion.

Besically in my case, to resolve the issue, I had to purshase a new router. My old router was D-Link.

    I hope this would help.

I spent two days trying to sort this out. What worked for me in the end was to turn off WiFi on every device in the house; including the printer. Power off every device except my PC. Reset the router completely using the PC, then turn on every device one by one, connecting each to WiFi again as I went. Magically my iPad no longer hangs and seems to be working fine. All other devices also working OK.
