Q: Am I being hacked or something?

I'm migrating my home folder to a new user account to change the name of the home folder to a new name then I was going to delete the original account if possible? I just noticed while the files were loading that it said last modified 24 Jan 1984. I wasn't even born then. Am I being hacked or something? what could this mean?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

You're not being hijacked. Things are mucked up because you are changing the name of your home folder improperly.

What is the proper way? I tried the "enabling the root folder method" but it won't authenticate and therefore I cannot foolw through with the steps that people have posted in other posts...

Yea I saw that link already. It's a little bit different on my machine but maybe that's because I'm on mountain lion. Got it sorted tho so cheers for your help
