Well, I prefer the new dialer color scheme - dark numbers on a light background is easier for most people to read - albeit a completely trivial aspect of the iOS in the overall context... Most dialing is done using Contacts, Favorites, or touching numbers within messages/email/apps anyway.

What I dislike is not the keyboard change itself, but how it keeps changing back to the old colour scheme for some activities.

Try dialing a number (or going to message bank), then bring up the keyboard, such as when doing phone banking. No new white keyboard now. The chopping and changing between colour schemes is more annoying than staying with one, or the other.

So "change is (not) good", when it happens during a phone call.

Deal with it and stop whining. No one here can help you.

I just wanted to write to express my strong dislike for the new iOS 6 phone dialer colors. It looked so much better dark and now looks cheap and old fashioned looking. I can understand the desire for change and improvements but honestly, this looks like an ammeter designed it. It would be spectacular if they could offer an update that would allow the user to specify how they want the dialer to look (Black or White). For me, it is even hard to see the new white/grey combo design.

Others I have spoken to about the new dialer color scheme agree!

True (and I agree), and I (along with others presumably) have, but as a community it is good to know what others are thinking as well, and even better perhaps coming up with a community-supported proposal for what is desired.

Unfortunately some other individuals deem this whining, and only expect communications being about how wonderful Apple is rather than providing feedback that may help strengthen the brand. A strong community spirit is part of the attraction of a quality product/brand, and those that attack the community rather than supporting conversation undermine this.

"Community proposals" are all fine and good, but until Apple tasks an engineer to work the issue (and they will decide what, if anything is implemented), you can propose anything you want, and Apple generally assigns engineers based on feedback recieved through the feedback link.

I don't necessarily have a problem with the colour scheme itself - it's the inconsistency that gets me! it's a combination of the above.

A little consistency is all it needs

Sometimes it's blues, sometimes it's whites, sometimes it's blacks, and sometimes it's a combination of the above.

All it needs is a little consistency - at the moment it just smacks of a rushed product with no user testing, rushed out to cash in on the Christmas sales rush
