iTunes Match on iOS 6 Hangs

All - I upgraded to iOS 6 today. I had iTunes Match before but had to re-enable it after the upgrade. Since doing so, the Music app has been just sitting there with a cloud in the middle of the sreen and a progress bar that doesn't move. There is a pinwheel indicating activity next to the Wifi indicator, but nothing has been happening.

Has anyone else seen this? Do I just need to be patient? (Yes, I have upwards of 19,000 songs ... but I don't remember the process being so slow when I first set it up on iOS 5).

Hmmm, I may have sent my message to quickly.

The process is over. I can see albums, artist name ... but not the songs name nor the playlist.

And of course, I can't play any songs.

Right after I posted my prior comment my progress bar finally started to move. It too quickly jumped to about 75%. The next time I looked at it the big cloud and progress bar were gone. I thought everything was good... the list of artist appeared, the list of albums appeared. But the list of songs was still blank. If I select an artist I can see all their albums, If I select an album I can see all the songs but they all show 0:00. If I select one of those songs I get nothing.

I also agree that the auto lock should be disabled (for this update). Even when I was downloading the iOS6 the progress would stop every time the screen went black.

I did it from within iTunes. I did a restore, and when it was complete it asked if I wanted to restore from a backup, to which I answered NO to give a completely clean slate. I then went through the initial iOS6 setup wizard on the phone. After entering my Apple ID everything was perfect -- like I mentioned, without even turning on iTunes Match, it did it for me and all of my music was listed.

I then went ahead and just added back up apps/photos I wanted to sync, and it's been great since then.

(I also had a separate thread about podcasts not showing up in the podcast app ... this has been resolved as well).

If you're willing to start with a clean slate, as I mentioned, it's well worth it. This is the best I've ever seen iTunes Match work.

I must say, this worked VERY well for me. I did hit my phone against the wall a couple times too, but I don't think that step is required.

Thanks for the fix! I don't think you'd have to delete the entire folder, though. You can probably just delete the iTunes Match playlist files, but I didn't try that, I just went ahead and deleted it all, then I went back and reloaded my ringtones folder and playlist.

Mine is still not working. But you said this streams instead of download? So the download function is not there? That is disturbing, I listing to my music all day at work and I have no wifi or signal. Plus I have to use my data plan to listen to music. What was wrong with the download function? I will not be renewing my match subscription if it only offers streaming.
