Sep 19, 2012 4:36 PM in response to LugorIVby christineleiser,I had the same issue, but after a couple of tries, I chose "start over" and it brought me to the iCloud log in screen and asked for my iTunes password. I entered it, immediately got the wi-fi icon at the top of the page and the rest went smoothly. Hope that helps someone else.

So on the error page, you need to search "Log In" on the top right corner, then press the iCloud "learn more" button, then follow the instructions of os the iCloud setup. It will ask your apple ID password, and VOILA! you got yourself an internet!

Sep 19, 2012 4:37 PM in response to LugorIVby icculus58,I had the same issue....selected the apple home, or another selection on the top of the web page error and it solved my problem? I was able to see the apple homepage. It may be related to not entering your apple ID during the IOS 6 setup....this ipad has an apple ID for purchases and a separate ID for messages/icloud/etc.

Sep 19, 2012 4:37 PM in response to LugorIVby chambersbtap,For anyone struggling with the collusal failure of iOS6. Do this > Settings > Safari > Clear cookies and Data. Then go to Wifi - Forget the network. Then turn off the iPad, turn it back on. Reconnect the wifi. You should get a 'success' message. Dear Apple, you really screwed this one up.

Trying to connect to my own WIFI network opened Safari and it would try to connect to a Apple.com webpage that doesn't exist.
FIX:
Settings > Wi-Fi > (Network...) > "Blue Circle Arrow"
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and set:
HTTP Proxy to Auto
