Sep 19, 2012 4:42 PM in response to LugorIVby Schtevie67,Ok folks, nice and easy to fix.
Just switch off your Wi-Fi in settings and then switch on again. When it sees your Wi-Fi, select it and hey presto, all works.
Just completed on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4.
Both now upgrading apps over my Wi-Fi connection.
Hope this helps.

Sep 19, 2012 4:42 PM in response to LugorIVby FalconLorenzo,Ugh. Same problem on BOTH my iPad 2 WiFi only (essentially bricking my iPad) and my iPhone 4. Very obnoxious. Not sure if related, but none of my apps installed. However, if I manually install an old app from the App Store it will put it exactly where it was located on my backup, and create the folder and everything. Very confused. Not the best software roll out Apple has ever done.... Is there any known fix?

Sep 19, 2012 4:42 PM in response to LugorIVby agentgonzo2,FIXED.
Here's what I did. I rubbed the cat on the ceiling and changed my socks. Do that and it'll work for you!!!
(yes, this is sarcasm - apple fixed the bug on their website and now everyone's device works)

Sep 19, 2012 4:42 PM in response to LugorIVby RealPete,I had this issue too, both on my ipad 3 and iPhone 4S. I worked around it by connecting to my wifi in the Settings and, once connected, and without exiting the Settings, hold down Home button and ask Siri to search for something. Wifi stays on after doing that. Can then use wifi as normal.
Don't ask me why this works but it does.

Sep 19, 2012 4:43 PM in response to LugorIVby AppleInTheMud,Dont do any fixes. The problem was APPLE - not your stuff.
Just try again and it will work. Shame on Apple for the silence... AS ALWAYS !!!

I turned off wifi and then re-enabled. It automatically connected to the wifi network and everything seems to be working. I did a restart of the ipad and it seems to be working fine.

Sep 19, 2012 4:45 PM in response to LugorIVby Izyman69,I had the same problem that everyone is describing. I was able to connect to my wifi by adding the network name manually. under choose a network in the settings, select other, and then enter the name of your network, the security type, and the password. connected no problem for me. P.S. the network name is caps sensitive.
