How do I downgrade from iOS 6.0 to the previous version?

I am having many problems with iOS 6 that I didn't have before downloading it...

How can I go back to the previous version?

iPod touch, iOS 6

Lol ur funny, I haven't much seen any forums about maps bc I barely go on that topic. (Forums/maps section)

1. I don't work for Apple but do I wish I were.

2. I'm happy they've update it bc of where I live, the map is a dead zone, no green, no grass, all a bunch of construction and raw brown from the dirt and been like that for 6 yrs. it shows its still constructin over here but its not anymore, I'm sick of seeing it.

3. I have no problems getting directions, plus I no the town from the back in my head with my eye shut.

4. There is a couple places that have changed that i know and no longer there so when u look for something from a crappy google maps thing, that building/place/name is no longe there.

5. My friends house shows 1 house near it on google maps when in reality there is 10+ houses by it. And Apple maps currently version of it shows it.

Google maps is the crappiest version showing the world wrong when it's been changed for almost 7 yrs now.

Maybe later if Google is a big **** later, they will make a google maps but for now they won't at the present time.

There is other maps on the App Store, use them and stop crying about it bc Apple will nvr go bak to Google.

ps. more roads been added over the years which on Google does not include them bc there 2 stupid not to update there maps.

Nokia did the same mistake several years ago stop listening customers! I was faithful user for 10 yrs for nokia. Until applications/ phones provided did not serve me.

Now apple is doing the same thing.. if the management has any common sense they will give people to option downgrade (old users) and option to choose between map google and apple maps...

Challenge for apple maps....give your customer choise to choose between maps google and maps apple

then make apple maps so much better that people want volunterily to choose to apple maps?

Is this too much to ask?

Apple are you realizing how much corporate customers you are forcing to move to android phone because of this?

We want our maps google back!

Actually those of us "sheep" usually wait till the bugs are worked out before upgrading osx. 😮 Everyone knows even in a windows world that first release of an osx has some bugs that need to be worked out. So if adding the google maps in the way I stated does not help you then you do not want a resolution to your problem, you just want to complain. Have a wonderful day!

WOW! This is super-disappointing! Ive been an Apple customer and investor for years! And now, I'm not "allowed" to downgrade my IOS 6...which has cuased me to lose my music streaming to my car audio system from Spotify...

And this response of "All I can say is that downgrading is not supported by Apple." is not acceptable. "All I Can Say"???

I probably will wait until 6.01...but I probably wont get another IPhone, and if this is Apple's new policy...it may be time to sell my Apple stock.

...totally bummed that Apple failed to at least provide an alternative to "waiting" for the patch...that's assuming the patch resolves my issue.

I own a company that works in public safety and need VPN access to many of my clients. When I updated to 6.0 it totally broke my IPSEC VPN and now I need to go back to my Panasonic Toughbook until they get this fixed!

I'm pretty new to Apple so this iPad with Verizon 4G is my first Apple product and I've only owned it for about 3 months and just started trusting it to carry with me on my jobs.

I was absolutely amazed when I called Apple Care and found out they don't allow a previous signed ios version and there is no way to revert back to the previous ios!

I'm a Microsoft, Cisco, Intel, etc., etc. partner and this is unheard of in my industry. They always provide a path back because they know it's virtually imposible to find every bug in a general release.

In my role working with Police, Fire, and other first responders in some of our largest cities I can tell you now that if they do not change this policy of not allowing you to fall back to the previous ios I will strongly lobby my customers to never buy Apple iPads and share my frustrating story.

Are you listening Tim Cook.

I was very disappointed has been updated to ios 6. After I upgrade, my new ipad often restarts itself and sometimes it turns off on its own. if I play the game hay day, subway surfer and other games, my ipad suddenly turn off or crash (the game freeze) and to turn it on again i must press power and home button at the same time if i press the power button only it will not turn on.

If I have to wait for the ios from apple repairs seem to be long. if I know would like this i will not upgraden it.

Many of the 'experts' on this site all offer the same basic answer - 'no, it is not supported', and offer a vague threat of 'it will brick your device' I'll tell you why.

When you upgraded to iOS6, the apple servers authorized it - you might have noticed this during the upgrade process. This produced an individual digital signature for your device, and your device alone, that allowed the firmware to load. This is known as the SHSH blob. During the process, the individual digital signature that authorized iOS 5.1.1 was erased. So, even though you can download iOS 5.1.1 firmware, and can download many programs that will fool iTunes and assist in loading the iOS5.1.1 firmware, they will all fail, unless you saved the SHSH blob that authorized iOS 5.1.1. There is no way around this, and even the people that wrote these third-party programs, have not been able to crack the SHSH blob encryption - yet. Those that say they downgraded are probably telling the truth. Apple stopped the digital signing process on iOS 5.1.1 only about a week ago, and they downgraded in that window. That window is closed.

So, you are stuck with iOS6, like it or not, until a new iteration of iOS6 is offered for download. No one in this community can say when, or even if it will fix your issue(s). Also, every new release of iTunes further tightens the 'digital straitjacket' on Apple devices ever tighter. From Apple's point of view, this is good. It allows them ever more opportunities to extract revenue, and control the content they feel is good for the user base. I guess the Apple '1984' video has now come full circle.
