Renaming iPod Nano

I bought an iPod Nano at Best Buy that had been previously opened. The previous person who owned the iPod named it with her first name, how do I change the name of the iPod to my name? Thanks.

I have tried about ten times to rename the ipod on itunes following the directions on this forum. It looks like it is saved, but it defaults back to the old name the next time I connect my ipod to itunes. HELP!

You can also highlight its name in iTunes and click F2. Retype the name.

This sums everything up as well (It is similar to what Niel said)...

The best way to do it - open the iPod updater and click Restore and register your iPod with your iTunes once again. But Bear in Mind it will erase all data on your iPod if you do the Restore.

Connect the iPod to your computer and select it in the iTunes source list. Click on its name and type in a new name.

And I updated my nano as directed. And I tried just highlighting the name, renaming and pressing F2. F2 didn't do anything at all.

I'd recommend downloading the iPod Updater and using that to restore your iPod to Factory Specs. That will clear out everything the previous owner did to the iPod.
