    Thanks for the reply Chris,

But my WiFi issue is that I can't get to the page where it actually scans for networks.  When I open Settings, WiFi is turned off.  When I select it to try to turn it on, it takes me to a greyest out page with an off/on slider.  But it won't allow me to slide the switch to "on."  So, I can't get to the area you mentioned where I could reset to auto.

But I appreciate your reply.  Thank you.

    Reset your iPhone.

Press and hold both Home & Power until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red power off slider.

For those who are still having issues with thei Wi-Fi "On/Off" slider being grayed out, here is the solution that worked for me on my iPhone 4S.

    1. Go to "Settings"

    2. Select "General"

    3. Select "Reset" (All the way at the bottom)

    4. Select "Reset Network Settings"

The phone will then restart then search for a cell phone signal.

Once it's back, the Wi-Fi "On/Off" slider, will be functional again. You will need to select your Wi-Fi connection and re-enter your Wi-Fi password if you have one set up.

    Hope this helps.
