iOS6 - Terrible Maps - When is Google Maps coming back

I have just installed iOS6 and I am so disappointed with the new Maps application. Steve Jobs would have never allowed such a mediocre application to be included in the iOS.

Apple, please bring back Google Maps so that we can actually use for our real life!

Please bring back Google Maps! The new map app is horrible and inaccurate. Apple creates great products and some good software but some applications should be left alone. Google Maps have been an excellent standard...do not try to improve in areas that others can do better. While the flyover view is cool, it is limited to major cities and really just a silly novelty. I'd rather see actual full images rather than a stitched together virtual video game like world. Google's street view is a must and way more useful as it allows one to get a close up view of streets, landmarks and building facades before arriving.

Suggestion: If Apple insists on peddling this inferior maps app, perhaps make both apps available with a setting to choose a default preference.

It's senseless to force people to jailbreak their devices for better functionality. I'd personally rather not do that.

Sure you can do it this way but why be forced to have a less fluid mobile experience. The web app is not the same experience as a native iOS Google Maps app and is much slower. What about all of the other apps that use the maps API? They'll open the inferior native iOS app. This was a bad move by Apple. The Google Maps native app integration was nearly perfect.

"IT'S GOING TO BE MESSY FOR THEM."

Unfortunately, Apple's new maps are simply not as good as Google's. The release of iOS 6 yesterday was immediately followed by users complaining about the new maps, which lack a significant amount of detail and omit public transit directions. Access to high-quality maps is a critical feature for modern smartphones, and Apple's decision to swap out Google Maps is a rare example of the company openly placing its own interests above those of its customers. "There was no problem to solve," says Rene Ritchie, editor of iMore. "They're going to get hammered by mom and pop who want to find a store. It's going to be messy for them."
