Q: Aperture 3.4 crashes on startup how do I downgrade?

after upgrading to 3.4 (from 3.3.x) Aperture crashes on startup.  the install was done from the manual download from the apple site, since the app store does not recognize my pre appstore install.

running 10.8.2 on a MacPro

I saw this bug initially but after assigning places, I hit the 'home' button on the upper left and all the pictures reappeared. Now, I can't reproduce the bug anymore and I've assigned a bunch of projects to places and they don't disappear anymore.

    Really strange behavior.

I discovered the reason my photos "disappeared" from the Project...for some reason, when I assigned them to Places using the drop pin, Aperture created a filter by Area that caused no photos to be selected...when I unchecked the Area filter, they all reappeared...

    Really strange behavior.

defaults remove com.apple.Aperture AccountConfigurations in terminal works perfectly

what does this mean!  I have doen a finder search on defaults and can find nothing with this content.

    Help!!!

ps I tashed Aperture and downoaded 3.4.1 and still I am getting the message "Aperture cannot access this library.  To use this library, make sure its file permissions are set correctly."

..for some reason, when I assigned them to Places using the drop pin, Aperture created a filter by Area that caused no photos to be selected.

That is a feature, not a bug. Aperture will create this filter, when you select a "Places" pin on the map and click the little blue arrow to the right side of the places label. This sets an area filter and limits the selection to the images that are assigned to this place.
