I have quite similar problem, however I do see all my album covers in album list or while listening to them, but some of them are unexplainably missing in cover flow mode. Deleting and uploading them again on the device doesn't solve the problem. Rebooting doesn't help either.

The problem is rather frustrating and I hope there Apple will come up with a solution soon.

I fixed this by opening iTunes library in my computer, attaching my iPad, highlighting my entire library (scrolling and holding down shift key, although there is probably a better shortcut method)' and then going to advanced tab in top iTunes menu, clicking and pulling down the menu and selecting "get album artwork". A screen next appears asking if you want to get album artwork. Click get album artwork and it should synch it immediately to your iPad. Worked easily.

I am having so many troubles with IOS 6 on both my 4S and iPad 2. I have read at least 300 posts on issues related to this IOS launch and am worried about Apple. I am a serious techy and have been using Apple since 1994 as owner of an ad agency and tech developer on Apple.

I am not saying that the 300 posts are the issue...worse, there are many, many thousands. But I'm finding issues all over. Especially battery drain. My 4S lasts a few hours now with everything turned off. Seems a total new phone reset is the favoured answer to that issue, but now my iPad wouldn't let me change iCal meeting times. Tried three times and wouldn't change. I've rebooted but not fully reset to new on either device.

I am one of the folk who got totally f'd over by updating IOS 4 onto my 3G phone. What a nightmare. I was able to downgrade fortunately. I want to downgrade from IOS 6 more than the 3G experience with the hours and hours wasted reading forums and trying to figure it out. I'm lost with IOS 6. We're early, but wow. This is serious and makes me wonder about the missing oversight of Steve Jobs. Microsoft was said to test with customers. Is Apple there now too to increase profits? I am an evangelist to everyone to not upgrade yet. I'm f'd but my kids, wife and employees don't have to be. If you are reading and considering upgrading, I think you're too early. I knew I shouldn't have been in the front lines with IOS 6, but my excitement got the better of me. Now, I'm back to really, truly wondering about my favourite company. Are they f'd too?

Don't upgrade as of Sep 25/2012. Some people have written of success, but too many have said otherwise. A survey of about a thousand people on some blog site in Canada showed roughly 75% having major issues.

These devices are too integral to my profitability to have them set me back like they have. Not right for such a large and profitable company. Sounds like the old enemy, not like the old friend.

I upgrade my iPad2 to iOS 6 and my album art goofed up.

As it looks wrong album has wrong art.

Deleting my music and then resync it doesn't make a difference.

I use a playlist that only sync about 3000 numbers and a few hundred albums.

Not really amused with the iOS 6 upgrade process. Apple becomes more and more like Microsoft. Painful upgrades and other annoying issues.

Hello Discussion forum,

So IOS 6.1 arrived. In my ignorant hope that some fix would deal with the album art troubles I had and still have.

BTW: In the meantime most of the album art issues were manually resoved. However trusting in Apple I decided to upgrade to IOS 6.1.

To take a few 'best practices' from other and earlier posts into account. I decided to the next procedure.

1. Remove sync and music from my iPad2-64GB running IOS 6.0.1

2. Checked that all music was gone. Hence empty music libary. Clean start before upgrade.

3. Upgrade Ipad2 to IOS 6.1. Took a moment but it went fine.

4. Enable Music sync. Which as before is syncing one specific playlist with ~2700 songs.

5. Syncing went fine.

6. Result. No Album Art on iPad2. This time not a single album with art.

This was last night. So I have to figure to get the album art properly synced again.

Brgds,

Bas.

I was having a similar issue and tried all the suggested steps to no avail. I don't think my issue was corruption. Basically my issue was the album art showed fine when I was browsing vertically but when I turned it horizontally and was viewing albums in Coverflow some would show and some wouldn't but it was the same covers that didn't show.

Here's the steps I tried that did NOT work (solution below):

1) I tried resyncing from scratch. Basically I unchecked "Sync All", did a sync and then rechecked "Sync All" and resynced. That didn't work.

2) Then I tried unchecking "Sync All" and checked each artist manually and did a sync, still no luck.

3) Then I backed up and restored from scratch after resetting the device to the defaults. That didn't work either.

4) Next I tried deleting the database file suggested in an earlier post with iFunBox and doing a sync. Of course that didn't work either.

5) Lastly I decided to look at the actual jpg attached to the album. I am pretty particular about my album art as all my images are 600 x 600 at 72dpi. I also run them through EXIFTool to strip any "meta information" (which basically shrinks it down a bit smaller--I don't need that information for album covers). Anyway I used a program called MP3TAG that allows you to extract the album art. What I found was every album cover that didn't work in Coverflow was a "Progressive" jpg.

So what I did was resaved each album cover as jpg "Baseline (Standard)" using Photoshop. Then I highlighted all songs on the album, right clicked, chose "Get Info", used the newly saved "Baseline (Standard)" jpg in the album cover field, saved and resynced. I did this for each album having issues. I did NOT have to do any extra steps like resyncing all music or restoring the device from scratch.

This fixed ALL missing albums in Coverflow.

It seems like Apple's IOS 6.x doesn't support Progressive jpg's and only "Baseline (Standard)" when using Coverflow. I don't know if they support "Baseline Optimized" as none of my albums were saved in that format.

For what it's worth that fixed my Coverflow issues, FINALLY!
