Sep 20, 2012 1:28 PM in response to foshigiby EnigmaNemesis,Say what?????
What do these 'genius bar' employees feed you people?
These are not milk or eggs, they dont "expire".
Apple would have a class action lawsuit if that were the case. People went back to the old iOS 5.1.1 and WiFi worked. There is no "expiration".
Not to mention mine was not grey, I can see networks, it just would not connect to ANY type of network no matter what. Went to 5.1.1 and it connected fine like before.
I am waiting till they fix this debacle before I update.

Sep 20, 2012 2:00 PM in response to woodmeister50by FM5506,I have same exact model (AT&T/64ig/4S) and also updated via itunes/USB. My Wfi is stuck on "off" and the toggle greyed out. Don't know why but it's definitely an iOS6 glitch because I never had any trouble until I updated from 5.1.1.
Maybe it's related to how your settings are configured or some weird interaction with an app????

Sep 20, 2012 4:17 PM in response to Trapdoresothby macsk0709,To recap my problem, my 4s phone was upgraded OTA and the Wifi was greyed out. (see pic of the symptom)
Since then, I have downgraded back to IOS 5.1.1 for my phone and now the WiFi is back. To do the downgrade, there are many threads on how to do that and restore.
Hope this adds some more light to the problem.

Sep 20, 2012 4:59 PM in response to Trapdoresothby Narbwaffles,Update back to 6.0
Clear out your multitasking(double-tap the home button and hold down the apps as if you were deleting them) don't worry, it doesn't actually delete the app, it just stops it from running in the background. After the multitasking bar is clear, shut the phone completely off, then leave it for a couple minutes. After that, turn it on again and it should work.

Sep 20, 2012 5:58 PM in response to Trapdoresothby hpumac,Same problem but I think I found a solution:
Turn off Cellular Data: Settings - General - Cellular
Go back to connect to your WiFi. Then turn on your Cellular Data again.
Worked for me!
The wifi option turn on and in black!
