I can't Install IOS 6

I tried to install IOS 6 on my 4th generation Ipod touch 8gb model. It told me before the download to have at least 2.3gb of storage so i deleted some apps and had 2.5gb in the end. After downloading the software,I tried hitting the "Install now" button but it said "Unable to Install Update, And error occured installing IOS 6" and gives me an option to closw or got to settings. When hitting settings, it closes the mini menu. And when hitting settings, it closes the mini menu and doesn't direct me anywhere?? If somebody can please help me that would be SOOOO great!

hi, thanks for helping me knowing some things about iOS, the problem is that I just used all the solutions given in the link you have provided, still I cannot update my iPhone, it's the same issue everytime, I tried DFU and recovery mode, they both failed. but here is something that I have found that might help solving the problem:

I have two iDevices: iPad and iPhone, I have successfuly updated my iPad without a single problem, but the problem is happening with updating my iPhone. I have checked the model for both, the iPad model is: MC769ZP which I believe is distributed in Chine, the iPhone model is: MD235MY which is distributed in Malaysia, apple seems to have forgoten to check the update compatibility for Malaysian devices, there is no other logical explanation for this issue

please provide help if you really have tested a solution.

Are you selecting the iOS 6 .isp file you downloaded to your Desktop when you click on Restore in iTunes?

Dont worry, you aren't the only one having this issue. I have a iPod 8 GB model and I installed iOS6 over-the-air and it worked no problem. Now on the other hand, iv'e been trying to update my iPad 3rd generation and have really lost hope. I have tried upadating it through iTunes, over-the-air ande the same message pops up," The network connection has timed out." Or " iOS 6 was unable to be installed." I truly don't know if it has anything to do with how many people are trying to get into the server or if it is apples fault? I have also had called apple 3 times just to see what they recomend... I tried everything they suggested and nothing has worked? So they gave me a number to call back to try again. Other things I recommend to get iOS 6 on your iphone is try to update it very early in the morning or very late at night. Best of luck and lets just hope this issue gets fixed.

it's exactly what you just discribed, well if they even cannot fix this issue at the moment, there's nothing that we can do, and by the way, I've been trying since yesterday, at tried all the times, but it's seem all the same, the fault is not with overload in the server. anyway thanks, at least I know now it's not only in my iPhone 😀

Did you go and read the link (Basic troubleshooting steps) I told you to in my first post? If you would have, you would have seen the link to download the iOS 6 .ips file and how to install it manually. User uploaded file
