i am also have this issue when trying to get the aperature update

Same here: "The request timed out."

Only updates from other developers are displayed and updated correctly.

When only Apple software is needed to update [after waiting about 2 minutes] I'm getting the error above.

Having this problem since 10.7.4, now on 10.8.2... same error.

Tried to contact itunes store "geniuses" only got silly and not working solution.

This has worked for some:


- Sign out of the App Store (in the Store menu)

- Quit the App Store

- In Finder - Go>Go to folder... (or Apple-shift-G)

- Paste in the following "~/Library/Caches/ "

- It will take you to a folder. Delete com.apple.appstore

- Launch the App Store. Sign in and then reclick the Mountain Lion buy. It won't charge you again.
