I just want to confirm that you are in fact using iOS 6.1 and not 6.01 (the previous version, I guess there was a 6.02 as well that my phone (4S) never got flagged for) before I update my phone from 6.01 (which now works perfectly with my Pioneer AVH-P4400B head unit after applying the European fix) to 6.1 which was just released a day or two ago.

I did the Euro update a few weeks ago. Everything worked under 6.01. Today I updated to 6.1 with no problems. BTW I used an iMac running Mountain Lion to update. It looks like the Euro update is the same as the North American one, same ver#.

I did although I was quite nervous to update to 6.1 after following this thread ever since I purchased the AVH-2400BT. Everything still works fine. Kudos to Pioneer for fixing this problem. I did the first update because I am impatient and was tired of using the Android phone I bought to get around this problem.

Awesome! Glad to hear it worked for you. I have an appointment with the folks at CarToys this afternoon so they can 'diagnose' my issue and send my headunit to Pioneer to be fixed.

so, it seems now that my pioneer deh9400 is working again .. BUT! not on my iphone !works on my work blackberry and works with my son's iphone with 6.1 but mine with 6.1 will not sync ..says"pairing unsuccessful must be in range of deh9400" FML!!! what a P.I.T.A..

Does anyone have the instructions and file for the pioneer avh-p2400bt bluetooth firmware update? I was so excited to see they finally have a fix, but i just went to the age and the link is broken. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes I can at least confirmed that my iPhone4S is running iOS6.1 (10B142) and all the Bluetooth functions are working correctly after applying Pioneer Firmware Update to my AVH-2400BT headunit.

Same here, I have iOS 6.1 updated the firmware on my AVH-4400BH, I did not have access to a windows 7 machine at home, so I had to use Mountian Lion, I believe it will work with any OS, they just tried on windows 7 and will only answer question with windows 7. I noticed there is now a track number, I am not sure if that was there before, I only got to use the stereo for 1 day before iOS 6 messed the bluetooth functions up.

Nice to have it all back, but I started to like using pandora instead, my drive is long enough that it has a full charge when I get to work, so I do my daily charge in the car while listening to music.

How to Obtain the Free Firmware Update

You can also arrange for Pioneer to update your 2012 Pioneer CD or DVD Receiver by calling Pioneer Customer Service toll free at 800-421-1404 during regular business hours (M-F 10AM-7:30PM Eastern Time, except on holidays). If this firmware update is performed by Pioneer, there is a charge of $60.00 (this charge includes return shipping of the updated unit within the U.S.). Charges for removal/reinstallation of the unit and shipment to Pioneer are the customer’s responsibility.

How to Determine if the Firware Update has Already been Installed

CD Receivers:

• With the unit turned off (press and hold the source button until the CD Receiver turns off), press and hold the center of the volume knob to bring up the Settings menu → rotate the volume knob until "BT Version Info" is displayed and then press the center of the volume knob → The firmware version should show HW05-SW01.27.20.

DVD Receivers:

• With the unit turned off (press the home button and select ‘OFF’ from the source icons), press the home button → Press the “System” icon at the bottom of the screen → Select the “Bluetooth Version Info” option → The firmware version should show HW05-SW01.27.20.

If the Bluetooth firmware version shows HW05-SW01.27.20, no further action is necessary.

I was able to update using a windows 7 laptop with a bluetooth adapter. Just followed the directons from pioneer. All info is being displayed for Pandora and iPod funtcions using bluetooth.

I tried last night to update the firmware and got "insufficient resources". The Bluetooth Version Update section is grayed out as well. Am I SOL?

Why isn't there a USB update available? That would have been so much easier.

When the bluetooth options in system are grayed out, that is saying it is in use, disconnect your devices and turn off your sources, wait a second then go into system and try again, if that did not work press home then try to go into system again, sometimes you can be too quick.

For the insufficient resources, that sounds like that might be something happening on your computer, if so, try restarting and attempting again. If it is saying that on your head unit, then I have no idea what that means.

I just called Pioneer and they told me the same thing, reboot and try again.

It's is the computer that is giving me the error. I also tried to use OBEX Commander to do the file transfer and it tells me the "database is full" 1/2 way through.

I will try again. Thanks!

If that still does not work, I would see if you could barrow someones laptop, or if you have another device you can do a bluetooth wireless transfer from, try that.
