bluetooth music issues after iOS6 update

Ok, i just updated to iOS6 today. I jump in my car to drive home, and now my radio ( pioneer svh-p3400BH) no longer shows any sont info when bluetooth streaming. I used to get artist, album, and song info. Also, when i connect it via USB, i no longer get genra infr ( pop/rock, classical, ect).

Any ideas? if this a firmware on Pioneers side, or is the blue tooth messed up in iOS6?

To clarify... If you're seeing "code 0000" when you choose "yes" on the "FW Update" selection, you have an even older firmware version that is not compatible with the recent update Alpine has released. You need to contact Alpine support to help you out. In a nutshell, you either have to send your unit to them so that they can update it OR if you get a good tech in the phone, they might send you a replacement unit. There's no way for the customer to update the firmware if you are seeing "code 0000".

My firmware version before the update was 01.07.20

These things are really finicky and you might have to feel around to make both units connect, but I hope the procedure I outlined can be helpful to someone. Like I said, when I set it up in the manner I described, it worked flawlessly. I never saw code "0000' though, so wouldn't know what to do about that.

I just finished successfully performing this operation with a MacBook Pro i7 (2011).

After establishing a connection via Bluetooth and powering off the Alpine Head Unit, I (like others here) needed to connect again using the Alpine, not the laptop. It took a couple of tries (and I even got the "0000" error once), but eventually the Alpine recognized my laptop -- it scrolled the name of my laptop across its screen. I hit enter, it said we were connected, and then it finally took the file transfer of the update and 'automatically disconnected' after the transfer finished. NOTE: If your laptop asks about a 'matching code' containing a series of numbers, just say "Yes".

So: establish a bluetooth connection so that the Alpine shows up in your list of BT devices. Then turn off you car. Then turn on your car and connect through your Alpine back to your laptop. Once that works, this update should work as well by dropping the update file into the 'UPDATE" folder visible in your Bluetooth connection window when you "browse device".

Good luck all!

I've finally found a solution for "code 0000" without sending the CDE-133BT unit to Alpine support. As someone already mentioned "code 0000" means You have even earlier FW version incompatible with this update. To fix that You will have to install bluetooth update released by Alpine in 2012: http://serbia.alpine-europe.com/support/firmware-update/cde-131rcde-133bt-firmwa re-update.html. It's quite easy and quick. After that You will not see "code 0000" anymore but "waiting" as intended with the newest update. Hope it helps 🙂

I have updated my Alpine CDE-133BT with the Firmware Update – 08.02.2012 (.zip file, 274 kb).

Unfortunately problem still remain: the specification in the Alpine CDE-133BT user manual regarding iPhone are NOT respected: for example it is impossible to go to the next song using the Alpine.

There is a more recent Firmware Update somewhere ?

I agree, the third party dongle was the only way I could get it to work. I too have lost the ability to auto connect my iphone to the Alpine stereo (IVE-W530) after the update as well. I have finally succeeded to only have a new problem arise. I actually was running 6.0 and then updated to 6.1.2 today and it gave me the same issues. So, no fixes on that end.

Any idea if Alpine will be able to correct this bug, becuase I am right back where I started except now I get to see the music that is being played on the screen...LOL. USB update would have been so nice. I attempted to record my delima via youtube. Uploading it and will post it soon. But, it will only help people that have just noticed the issue and havnt learned the hard way like we have.

Mr Bugg, call Alpine support again. The "code 0000" means your firmware is too old to accept this latest firmware update. The Alpine tech you speak to should either offer to send you a replacement (less likely) OR offer to have you send in your unit to be updated in-house (more likely). If you are not offered one of these options, demand to speak to their supervisor. Don't hang up until you are offered one of these two options. I know people who have been offered both options... depends on the tech you get, I suppose.

Mr. Bugg,

Dilan is correct. Even though Alpine engineers have really messed up with this update, their tech support is mostly really good. I have spoken with several of their technicians there, including the supervisor and have had good experiences, with the exception of one person. I would guess that you spoke to a guy named "Robert." Every time I speak with him, it is not a good experience. The guy is arrogant and unhelpful. He has given me completely false information more than once yet with an insistence that he is correct. When calling back and speaking with another tech or the supervisor, I would confirm that Robert was just blowing smoke up my donkey. I don't know why that guy is in customer tech support!

Anyway, call back and they should get you taken care of one way or another. If you get Robert, hang up and call a little later.

Regarding your code '0000,' read a little further up this thread. One person reports to have gotten around it by finding an older FW update, installing it, and then installing this one.

Regarding the entire situation, luckily, I bought my units from Crutchfield recently and they are taking care of me. However, even they have had trouble with 4 different units. Alpine really screwed up with this one. Why on earth they didn't just stick with their previous methods of a burned CD or USB drive is anyone's guess, but they have certainly created a huge storm for their tech support department. I feel really bad for them (with the exception of Robert, LOL).
