Sep 20, 2012 10:50 AM in response to nikB123by edhammac46,I have a clarion deck...cost me at least a grand...if this issue is not fixed soon I am getting a droid, apple is too worried about aesthetics and doesn't give two $hits about a working product. This is the last straw. Mine does not work at all, my deck connects and I can make and receive calls, but no working audio. The audio output selector tab doesnt even appear. Apple was too busy making their music player look good, instead of making it work well. Very disappointed. My stereo cost more than an iPhone so its obvious which one is going to get replaced first.

Sep 20, 2012 10:57 AM in response to Lighty_by KingOfLimbs12,How does a bug this glaring get by Apple's QA? I mean, did they not bother testing Bluetooth AT ALL? It seems to not work on any device now..
Volkswagen did the same thing. Their 2012 RCD-510 stereo only streamed one half of the song over all the speakers. So, anything that was mixed heavily between left and right tracks sounded awful. Something that could have been diagnosed in 5 minutes. Apple falling right in line....

Sep 20, 2012 11:21 AM in response to nikB123by Computable,I have the Alpine CDE-HD137BT and iPhone 4s. I updated to iOS6 yesterday and get in my car to try the navigation. I thought, sweet it works over bluetooth, but then I tried to play music or switch songs, no go. I have to take the phone out of my pocket just to start playback. None of the controls work except pause. I too just got the head unit last week. Hopefully this is fixed with a firmware update on the head unit or a patch from apple. Tried to roll back to iOS5.1 only to find out that its not possible. bummed.

Sep 20, 2012 11:22 AM in response to Computableby KingOfLimbs12,Yeah, you can only downgrade if you stored your SSH blobs on a server. This is how Apple prevents people from jailbreaking. Unfortunate

Sep 20, 2012 11:54 AM in response to KingOfLimbs12by Typhx,Same issue here with an Alpine unit - purchsed 4 weeks ago. Am at work now - I updated to ios6 over the air and had icloud backup off since monday (seperate issue) - my icloud backup is 5.1.1. from 17/9, the backup on my computer is also 5.1.1. based from 18/9.
Can I not just restore in itunes? (unplugging pc from internet so it can't 'see' ios6??), what are teh ssh blobs you talk of?

Sep 20, 2012 12:23 PM in response to nikB123by mjwassmer,Having same issues--Pioneer. Has anyone heard anything from Apple? I have an upgrade next week, I'll easily switch to Android if this isn't addressed soon.
-
Sep 20, 2012 12:26 PM in response to mjwassmerby Lighty_,I don't know if anyone has yet contacted the Apple service. I haven't. I only mailed to Alpine & Parrot - asking them if they're planing to "updated" their BT firmware - no answer yet.

Sep 20, 2012 12:33 PM in response to Lighty_by Fancher,Yes, this is total BS. I finally upgraded to the 4S. That rendered my old school cassette adapter unusable because of a terrible noise it made. So after months of looking for a solution, I caved in a got a new stereo. And now a couple of months later I "upgrade" to iOS6 and now the bluetooth isn't 100% compatible. I don't have a lot of faith that Apple is going to fix it. They seem to think they're above it.

Sep 20, 2012 1:07 PM in response to nikB123by Jason-Dub,All with Clarion Radios:
I just got off the phone with their tech (incredibly difficult to find even a number). I was the first to report the issue to them. I provided this link as reference. The issue has been sent to their QA department for development. Hopefully, they will get an answer faster than Apple.

Sep 20, 2012 1:11 PM in response to Jason-Dubby Chewy13,Thanks Jason. I also submitted a Bug. It was a good idea to post this thread as a reference. I explained to them what was happening on my end.
