bluetooth music issues after iOS6 update

Ok, i just updated to iOS6 today. I jump in my car to drive home, and now my radio ( pioneer svh-p3400BH) no longer shows any sont info when bluetooth streaming. I used to get artist, album, and song info. Also, when i connect it via USB, i no longer get genra infr ( pop/rock, classical, ect).

Any ideas? if this a firmware on Pioneers side, or is the blue tooth messed up in iOS6?

Experienced exactly the same problem with my iOS6-updated iPhone 4 in combination with a brand new Alpine CDE-133BT car radio. I don't get any song info via Bluetooth and previous or next doesn't work, too.

Only thing that still works is simple streaming, but only when I start a song from the iPhone - starting it from the radio doesn't work.

Ohh... It all worked so very well yesterday...

I have a Pioneer DEH-8400BT which since upgrading to iOS 6 now no longer allows any AVRCP controls and music does not begin playing automatically. Manually starting the music still works, but steering wheel controls now no longer function.

Bluetooth in other words for me is completely broken unless you manually start the audio from the Apple Music app. 5.1.1 was perfect...

Good to know that I'm not the only one with this problem in combination with a Alpine player.

@Feek: haha! Serious? I LOVED it!! Worked like CD, which also started from the last position with the startup of the car engine.

@all: Does anyone know whether those Pioneer systems also use the Parrot interface for all Bluetooth handling just like the Alpine radios? I start to believe that this could be fixed with a update of the radio devices or rather its Bluetooth firmware

Glad I am not the only one!!

I updated to iOS6 last night. I have a bluetooth compatible car stereo that allows me to play music from my iPhone to my stereo and also allows me to make and receive phone calls, all through the stereo - prior to the update I had full control to skip tracks using either my steering wheel controls or buttons on my car stereo, however now I can only change tracks via my phone, which defeats the whole object of my stereo!

Would think this is an iphone problem then! Very frustrating given that my radio is new and was not cheap!

@proH03 - Are you serious? Parrot didn't just change their software on your unit, apple changed their software on your phone. "Maybe that is the link to all this"? There will either be a iOS6.0.1 or every Bluetooth chip manufacturer is going to have to rewrite software to work with apple's new version of protocol. I hope for everyone's sake it is not the latter.

What I mean by "Maybe that is the link to all this" is that maybe Apple changed something that is affecting only the units using Parrot BT modules as a lot of other people are saying that AVRCP is still working for them on iOS6 with different hardare on the other end.

I hope that it is something that gets resolved in 6.0.1 as for me its a massive problem with the amount of driving I do. I need bluetooth to work perfectly.

I think along the same line as proH03.

Apple introduced version 4.0 of Bluetooth with iOS6. That means new funcionallity for sharing over Bluetooth. Unfortunatley it also seems to mean that "old" BT instructions were removed or that those functions are now triggerd in another way. In my opinion it's not a fault that can be blamed on Apple but something that must be changed by Parrot. They have to somehow "adjust" their BT module to "understand" BT 4.0 standard. Hopefully all radio/stereo manufactures than quickly release new BT firmware for their devices to regain proper working.

Just bought a BRAND new Pioneer AVH-P4400BH radio for my truck not even a full week ago. This radio has multiple features focused around the iphone including app mode, Bluetooth streaming audio, and ipod connect. Before the update everything worked flawlessly. I installed IOS 6 last night and my ipod connect still works fine but when streaming audio over Bluetooth i lost my steering wheel controls and the radio no longer shows any information about the music ( title, artist. ect) and I cant change songs from the radio i have to work directly from the phone to control the music.

VERY upset about this to say the least... I haven't attempted to use the app mode yet and frankly i am afraid to because i bought the radio just for the app mode feature which allows for navigation and other apps (netflix, crackle..) to be displayed on the radio and play through the car stereo..
