I could not find a suitablr driver for my hp deskjet 1280 for OS X 10.8.1.Please help.

Try the hpijs drivers from OpenPrinting.org. Be sure to install all three packages -- HPIJS, Foomatic-RIP, and Ghostscript.
If the HPIJS driver does not work for you, I would also try out Gutenprint.

The Gutenprint drivers do not support the HP DeskJet 1280.
Does anyone know where I can find a driver for os x 10.7 Lion, i have the same printer with same problem?

Use the exact same HPIJS drivers suggested by Matt above, it is compatible with Mac OS X 10.3 up to 10.8.
