Well not seeing what you guys are seeing and I have never used street view as I don't find it all that useful. If you need it to build confidence up then you shouldn't be driving in the first place. Here are two views of satellite imagery of my old house. The google one is about 5 years old yet the apple one is less than 2 years old. Also quality on the apple one is much better.

Apple what were you thinking? Do you Apple Guru's not use the mapping apps in your iPhones? I'm not going to bother listing all the inaccuracies and lack of Satellite content. At the very least we expected to get what we had before, this is an appalling way to treat your Customers.

This is the first time I have felt the need to post on an Apple forum, but you cannot treat your customers like this. I assumed the problem would be that maps outside the US had taken a lower priority, but it seems that isn't the case.

    Get the content right, please.

And ranting is against the TOS of these forums so I suggest you stop. Also this is a user forum so you are not addressing apple here.

    GOOGLE MAPS in IOS 5.1.1

    APPLE MAPS in IOS 6

It is a SIGNIFICANT LOSS of functionality!

Only 5 roads in Belarus! No buidlings, no intersections, no terrain. Satellite photos are very poor quality!

It doesn't cover EU and Eastern Countries as well. TomTom is only good for US and Canada.

I certainly did not intend my post to be seen as a 'rant' .

Surely all iphone users can at least expect a replacement app to at least match the service they had before? I glad your bit of the mapping is up to date, that is clearly not the case for many as you can see from this and other threads.

Through these User Forums we can engage with other users and the software developers and at least try to get back what we had yesterday.

You're not engaging with Apple developers here. Submit your feedback directly to Apple using the appropriate link on the Feedback page:

What a terrible surprise I have just had trying to use the new maps on my phone to see a street view in London trying to find a company - there is no street view! This is terrible - is there an easy way to go back to ios5?

There is no official support for downgrading.

As above there is no 'official' way to do it ;-)

Not upgrading anytime soon, don't wanna lose my google map app.

yeah, i've decided to cancel my order for the iPhone 5, they won't let me cancel online, i have to ring apparently.

Went against my better judgement when i ordered, but i was desparate to upgrade my aging 3GS, and thought apple maps couldnt be that bad. Now that i'm beginning to see map comparisons for the UK, and see the map data i'll be losing access to, it's scared me off. Google maps data has just become so important to me. I can always reorder the iPhone 5 when things become a little clearer.

Bing Maps offers a very good maps service with Bird's Eye, a feature similar to Flyover. It's arguably better than Google Maps.

You can use Google Maps by creating a shortcut to the Home Screen with help from the article below.

MapQuest also has a very nice app available.

Nokia Maps is another great service that you can add to your Home Screen via a web shortcut.

If you would like to send a suggestion to Apple, please go to http://www.apple.com/feedback or you can Report a Problem via the Maps app by tapping the bottom right.

This map mistake and arrogance reminds me of Windows Vista.  For me this might be the straw that makes me move to a Windows 8 tablet.  At least I would get Google Maps that work and You Tube and FLASH which I miss every day when my Ipad daily remind me that I can't play video.  In my opinion Apple has forgotten its customers as it wars with its competition.

I'm rather deflated that I've had to cancel my iPhone 5 order over the phone this morning, I was so looking forward to it.

I've come to rely on acurate detailed maps and directions on my aging 3GS - here in the UK and abroad - and I can't afford to compromise.

I'm very disappointed by the Maps app Apple provides. I hope Google is working on a native Maps app for iOS and that many other app developers are integrating their alternative rather than the Apple app.
