My triple click home button was set for night mode. I can exter guided access mode, but cannot exit now. The password window does not show up!

Thanks to Twitter user Jay Graves (@skabber) I found the following solution. Hold the power + home button for 10 seconds to reboot the device. This will allow you to use the device as normal.
