iOS6 upgrade: Maps -do not work- in India.

Maps are big disappointment.

Request Apple please update it.

Use safari webapp

This is really bad, as everyone is relying on GPS for directions and Apple instead of making things simpler is taking away the convenience !!??!!

Forget the directions even the city map (Pune where i am based) is like 10 yrs old and does not recognize the locality am in... forget the building and neighbourhood.

This is really poor show.. Expect Apple Maps to be at par with Google Maps if they want to do away with it.

I will have to go back to IOS 5.1 (if there is an option) or may be Andriod Device as my 800$ Apple Device

Google may have already submitted a new Maps app to the App Store for Apple's approval.

Yes its a bummer. But you can install the google maps app.

Its not as good as the earlier one, but definately better than what apple has provided in iOS 6. (I stay in HYD and they got the airport location wrong !)

To install, type www.googlemaps.com on the browser. You will get a pop up asking you to install the web app.

P.S.You can report errors on the new apple maps through the app its self.

Hey...download...G-whizz! From app store...u can use it as a substitute for google maps.

First ime regreted for updating the ios. Very bad on Apple.

Truely disappointed with Apple Maps. Try Waze from App Store, i like it for its simplicity.

I have found the BEST replacement. Its called Maps+ and its free!

Basically its Google Maps with a different name. Turn by turn navigation is best provided by another great free App called Waze

Both are terrific!

I hate the upgrade coz it entirely ruined the maps app. The old one before the upgrade worked fine and actually was quite helpful with directions, distance and time and I used it quite extensively. But now it doesn't show me anything. The 3d look is terrible and it doesn't even show the smaller roads which it did earlier. Directions to the main road from my house is also too much for he new map app!! It gets lost and can't show me directions!!!

I also dislike the new youtube app and the appstore looks amateurish! But, that's for another forum...

All I can say is that the upgrade actually lost a fan... Majorly disappointed Apple.

Hi, The Google Maps app is already back and available in App Store. Its improved and works like a charm. Do give it a try in case you haven't tried it out. Also Waze is another note worthy app.

As fas as Apple Maps are concerned - Its nothing more than a redundant icon on home screen.
