The Auto-lock function does work when I put the Assistive Touch on. Is this a bug of IOS 6? Does anybody here have the same problem?

Until apple comes out with a fix, I have to turn touch assist off in order for the phone to auto lock per my 1 min setting.

It happens on my iphone 5 but not on my updated 4s from 5.1 to IOS 6

There is a workaround. See the related topic here:

I'll repost the workaround here as well:

I've been testing this for the last 30 minutes or so and found that if the AssistiveTouch panel is the *last thing pressed*, even if it's just to return the panel to it's minimized size, the screen will *not* AutoLock.

To get AutoLock to function normally, something other than the AssitiveTouch panel needs to be pressed. This can be a simple screen swipe.

Because of the additional motion (screen swipe or otherwise) required to get the screen to AutoLock correctly and not stay on indefinitely, I really doubt this is "by design". Seems like a nasty bug that will bite someone hard and kill their battery without them knowing it.

Also, PLEASE report this issue to Apple. Without users reporting it, It may get buried and take much longer to get resolved.

the problem is definetly related with Assistive Touch.

here is the only solution I found: after you closed an app using assistive touch home button, just touch some arbitrary place on the home screen. you may try flipping the page or just touch and move slighly, but don't run another app, just touch somewhere on the screen. then you will see that the auto lock will work (even though you have apps in multitask bar).

i guess when you use the assistive touch home button, it got stuck somehow.

I thought it was just me, but yes it doesnt work well with the assistive touch enabled.

I used someone elses tip, and swipe a page after using the home button on the assistant to return to the main screen. It seems to work well when i do that. however if i touch the home button on the assistive touch, and dont do anything after, it never goes to sleep.

i have an iphone 5, and it seems most versions have this issue. IOS6 bug IMO.
