do the new earpods fit all ears?
I was wondering if the new earpods fit all ears since l'm buying them. They look like they only fit in particular ears with the shape of the earphones.

I've experienced similar where they are not staying in. Old ones were great and using foam covers helped.
I think there's a great opportunity for 3rd party covers to make them fit snuger (like the way some of the Bose fit) - Just a thin gel layered or foam thing.... Hint Hint out there!!!! 🙂
I just got these, and like some other people, the earbuds wouldn't stay in my ears very well.
But I found a solution:
It makes them stay in and won't leave a residue on the earbuds (or your earholes).
I've been using some for a while now but my ears must be too small because they ache after a 15 minute stint... Are the Apple Earbuds any better for small eared people? I'd love to try some but they're so **** expensive...
According to Apple's website:
The Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic are designed to rest comfortably inside — and stay inside — a variety of ear types.
So they should fit most types of ear quite comfortably, especially compared to their older ones.
B-rock
I got the new Apple Earpods few days ago, and i have to say that they do not fit for me. The older Apple Earphones didn't stay in mine ears even i was still, the new Earpods are little better, but still, they don't stay in my ears more than 1 min. 😕
Anyhow, the sound is great. i just can't enjoy about it.
Mine continually fall out whenever I move my head too quickly or touch the volume/mic. I'm quite disappointed by the new design. 😟 So long as I don't move or touch them, their are fine.
I had no issues with the old ones and have had to returned to using them.
Cool! Side but related note... I searched the web on my phone for this and it's available at Target.
Surfed there and found it in my local Super T, and it was available and told me what isle it was in.
The native app is almost up to par with their site.
A map of the store was there but it couldn't find the product locale.
I like not having to search all over a store.
I'll try these 3M's tonight :)
Hi Jauntymcgoo,
I gave it a try... Not quite sure if I like it just yet.
Question... Does your 3M mounting squares have adhesive on both sides?
I suppose some other single sticky sided foam product would work also.
One sec..........
I just fit an older pair of round foam covers, and they're working good.. I may not have given this much thought initially, but this seems to work as well... I'm happy to now be able to use these great sounding buds.
Thanks!
Here is another home brew way of solving it:

Then there is the Yurbuds, but they don't have them yet for the new EarPods.....
Cheers!
They fall out of my ears quite easily as well, and seem to slip out of place when they don't. I don't find them pleasant to use which is a pity as the sound quality is quite nice when I can keep them in.
I am not sure it is sufficient for Apple to say "well, no earbuds can fit all ears" - true enough but it seems pretty clear that these have a fit problem that is worse than average.
A while back with the older set of Apple headphones my wife ran into issues and went to a running store and bought a set of rubber inserts called Yurbuds. If they made a specific pair to fit the new EarBuds, it would be smart. While my set I got from my wife isn't a perfect fit, it really works well, and sound isn't compromised.
Not exactly an elegant fix, but I cut thin strips from band-aid type adhesive bandages (look for the webby matte kind as they are more flexible) and stuck them around the rim of the earpods. They move around a lot less now and I am a lot happier with the fit.
I just received them as a gift. Great sound but they don't even go into my ears very well. They hang on my ears tho and generally don't fall out completely. I was hoping to work out with them in but can only work at my desk! Bah! Anyhoo, they do sound good. If they were half the size, they'd fit.
I have small ear canals and the new earbuds do not fit. I have to put them in with the main output sideways. They sound great, but I won't be able to wear them this way. I'll go back to using my super cheap but good Panasonic earbuds I think I paid $7 for on Amazon.
The Apple earbuds do have great sound, but I was disappointed that they do not fit my ears at all. Regardless of how I position them they will fall out. Since they seem to fit most people, I must be in the minority, but I was very disappointed after my iPhone 5 purchase that I could not use the earbuds while walking.
