Is hiding purchases functionality gone is iOS 6?

I try swiping left or right, but "Hide" button doesn't appear as it used to in iOS 5. Is this functionality gone?

iPhone 4, iOS 6

It doesn't appear to be there at the moment - whether it's only temporary or not I don't know

Doesn't seem to be there anymore. What's worse, is I'm seeing hidden apps on my iPhone (but not my iPad). Also hidden apps can be viewed, but not restored anymore.
